Catching up on a few items over the last week or so
A double-decker Go Cornwall bus has crashed into Treliske Hospital this morning (Thursday, October 9). The bus appears to have crashed into a canopy at the entrance of the Trelawny Wing, which includes the emergency department. One witness has told CornwallLive they heard the crash and saw the bus hit the hospital just before 9am. They said: "I was sitting on the bench and heard a crash turned around and saw the bus go into to the front of the hospital".
Pictures taken at the scene show the top window of the double-decker bus completely smashed up, as metal poles have been left bent and trapped under the canopy. It is not known if there were any passengers on the bus at the time of the crash. A spokesperson for Go Cornwall said:
A double decker bus has clipped the canopy on the entrance to Treliske Hospital this morning. There was one passenger on board, no reported injuries. Management have been to the site and held a meeting with the hospital facilities team. An investigation is currently taking place.
