Stagecoach Scottish Imports

Stagecoach seem to be gaining a few single deckers from Scotland at the moment:

The two Enviro 300s are a new type for Devon. It remains to be seen where they end up in service.

Fleet News: Plymouth Citybus

Just when it looked like the Volvo double deckers were due to be eliminated from the fleet, Citybus go and get some more!]

6927 LX54GZE Volvo B7TL Plaxton President H41/21D Jan-2005
6928 LX54GZF Volvo B7TL Plaxton President H41/21D Jan-2005

I believe the original plan was for 6922-6927 but 6924 and 6925 are still up North whilst 6928 was sent instead. It remains to be seen what their Plymouth fleet numbers will be, but there is a gap between the last Volvos and the ex London Enviros - 454-459 so that would fit! All being red already is very handy indeed!

Fleet News and Fleet Lists

A few bits of note as I have been updating fleet lists over the last day or so

Plymouth Citybus has seen the departure unused of the Volvo double deckers back to East Yorkshire.

In return we have received 5 Scania L94UB

374 NK54NVW Scania L94UB YS2L4X20001849580 Wright Solar J289 B43F Jan-2005
375 NK55OLM Scania L94UB YS2L4X20001853156 Wright Solar K111 B43F Feb-2006
376 NK54NVZ Scania L94UB YS2L4X20001849577 Wright Solar J292 B43F Jan-2005
377 NK55OLJ Scania L94UB YS2L4X20001853109 Wright Solar K110 B43F Feb-2006
378 NK54NVF Scania L94UB YS2L4X20001849454 Wright Solar J277 B43F Jan-2005

Note that they have been numbered after the other Scanias and not in the 1000’s which suggests these are staying around a bit longer?

I have not seen any reports of them being used here yet.

I have updated other fleet lists including OTS and Travel Cornwall. The full listing online is as follows – with the local fleets all up to date to the latest PSV Circle News Sheet (July 2020) The main Go Ahead and First Group fleets are still a few months out of date…

01 July 2020

Fleet Lists are back!

I may have been quiet on here recently due to not being out and being extra busy with other things at the moment but I have been able to make a start at sorting out my fleet lists and bringing things up to date, something which I have had several requests for!

I can now bring you the first results of this catch up with a couple of local listings

Other local listings will be made available over the coming week or so as I update my records. The up to date details will always be found here

I hope to get First South West listing up next. Eventually Stagecoach Devon will be available but I am a lot more behind with them!

Also on line at the moment I have

These last two are not up to date yet (psvc area 3 is, but the other areas are a few months behind)

As always if anyone notices any errors or updates please let me know and I will correct them. (dbg@plymothiantransit.com)

Plymouth Citybus Fleet News Part 2

Catching up on the other buses withdrawn by Plymouth Citybus:

486 PJ02RFJ

Plymouth Citybus 486 PK02RFJ

I for one will miss these buses as they were by far the best of the second hand buses that have joined the Citybus fleet.

It seems likely that some of these buses will send up with Roselyn Coaches.

Following on from this mornings post – it can be confirmed that 434 X546EGK was withdrawn a good while back. This means that the front line DD fleet is now all Enviros.

Other news – is that the 4 Enviro 200s recently acquired from Yorkshire are now being prepped for repaint. It is expected they will receive the new Citybus livery – but this has not been confirmed.

Finally for now it is rumoured that some of the older coaches in the fleet are being replaced shortly. It remains to be seen what with!

Have a very Happy Christmas Everybody!

I believe this just leaves 434 X546EGK in service – unless I have missed this one.

The last East Lancs Volvo is trainer 418 PL51LGW which is expected to be replaced by a Citaro shortly (probably 82)

Dennis Darts

Many of the older Dennnis Darts are currently VOR at Milehouse with many of them due to visit Hants & Dorste at Eastleigh for DDA conversion when they should re-enter service.

Back on 6th February the position was as follows:

29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 38, 39, 40 in the line up at bottom of lower yard. All VOR. 35 with withdrawn buses behind the old tram sheds. VOR. 36 in rear workshops behind door 7.  37 in front workshops over the pits. 41 and 43 in engineering line. both VOR 42 engine repairs over pits in raised depot. 29 back from Hants and Dorset trim, a quick look through the open doors didn't reveal anything that might have been done to it. 30 was noted in service on the 8th February at least.

Volvo DD Fleet

The double deck Volvo fleet: 420 W509WGH has been sold and appears to have left Milehouse. 441 has also finally left Milehouse and arrived with Target Travel. 416 has now been lettered up as a DRIVER TRAINER

New Coaches

There has been some confusion with a batch of new Volvo B11RT / Plaxton Elite Interdeck coaches for Megabus. It has been well known that Plymouth was to become a major base for Megabus work and a few of these new coaches were recently placed into service with Stagecoach Devon legal lettering.

54265 YY65VXG [Photo]

54270 YY65XVM [Photo]

54271 YY65VXN [Photo]

Since then the batch has continued up to 54276. The whole batch now seem to run under Midland Red South control. It is believed that some of these may come back under Devon control eventually but there have been conflicting reports! These coaches are now regular visitors to Plymouth on Megabus work and do look very smart even if the Megabus livery is a bit cartoony for some! Stagecoach 54276 YY65VXT

Peter Heath has supplied some observations from a trip into Cornwall:

Summercourt depot:

In the car park are 'preserved' (not by First) 1200, 34003 and 34198 but 34198 has a long list of defects and a smashed front upper deck window.  42825 also believed to be preserved at rear of parking.
