Tamar Bridge Shuttle

One interesting service operating in Plymouth at the moment is Roselyn Coaches TB1 shuttle service over the Tamar Bridge while major works are carried out. Mark bailey has kindly supplied some photos of the operation:

HXZ 252 working the Tamar Bridge shuttle service that Plymouth Citybus have sub-contracted to Roselyn.  It is an East Lancs Lolyne -bodied Dennis Trident, new to First Bristol as W714 RHT but subsequently transferred to First Devon & Cornwall and allocated to Plymouth depot for many years.

The other bus Roselyn are using (on weekdays anyway) is UFH 277, a TransBus Enviro300 acquired a few months ago that was formerly SN04 EFP, and new to Pete's Travel of West Bromwich.

Coming soon

There has been a report that at least one of the Enviro 400s in green has arrived at Milehouse. The last I heard was that they were due in February, although they may wait till 1st March and enter service as 16 Registrations - although this has not been confirmed.

Stagecoach Launched

Its taken me a while to process all the pictures taken by myself and others who have sent me theirs but finally we have a photo special of the Stagecoach Launch event outside Plymouth Guildall on Friday. Sadly the weather was poor so shots had to be taken in between the wetter periods but that has not put anybody off as there were good crowds of enthusiasts and also normal passengers who were keen to see the new fleet.

Swapsies

The big swap around by First continues with several Tridents now working in Plymouth replacing Cornwall bound Enviro 400s. So far confirmed in Plymouth are 32802 32803 32817 32853 32861.

Enviro's 33658 33661 33662 33664 33665 have departed and are in Cornwall having had their TAVISTOCK names removed. This leaves Plymouth with 33659 33660 33666 33667 at the moment. 33659 and 33667 at least were still on Park & Ride duties a couple of days ago.

A little bit more Gold arrives

The Enviros yesterday are not the only 14 Registered buses that you will see on the streets of Plymouth as Stagecoach have three new "Gold" Enviros which should be out and about very soon. As always Ben Beaver was on hand when they tried to sneak into Devon...

If you look carefully you might just notice that 15961 has different lettering to the other two!

There are ten brand new Enviro 200s working in Plymouth, but I doubt that many of you would have seen them, as they are all operated by Babcock and working inside Devonport Dockyard! Luckily Ben Beaver managed to catch a few of them on delivery a couple of months ago...

C-ent to the scrapheap: The Gardner 6LXB and ECW bodywork have also of course played a big part in her longevity, and no doubt she has proved to be a very suitable vehicle for the long distance conveying of dancers to competitions across the country.
