Picture Trail 005 was a 65 Reg Enviro, just like Stagecoach 26038 although its one deck shorter than Citybus 538

March 2016 looking very tidy in the now replaced Stagecoach UK livery.

I have long been promising a fleet update for Plymouth Citybus but at last have had a bit of time to update my own records so will start going through the fleet a batch at a time. As always this is not an official list so please let me know if you spot any errors or disagree with my listings!

Note that they are in the new 4 digit series rather than in the old Plymouth Citybus series following on from 171.

Work has started on them and the first are expected to be in service by the end of April

Over the next few days we have a few fleet updates for Plymouth Citybus.

Plymouth Citybus Fleet Update Single Decks

Dennis Darts

The Dennis Dart is almost extinct with 60 61 63 76 77 78 all expected to come out of service with the new timetables from the 24th April. The last one is expected to be 251 which will hang around for a short while longer eventually being replaced by short length E200s coming up from Cornwall.

Mercedes Citaro

The remaining Citaros are all expected to come off service by 24th April. The plan to retain some for the training fleet has been dropped in favour of the dual door E200s mentioned yesterday.

I noticed that the oldest Citybus Citaro, 87, was out in service today so I popped over to Eggbuckland to capture it on Culver Way working back to the city centre on the 28A from Crownhill.   ©Mark Bailey

Enviro 200s

There will be a few movements within the two fleets with 148 to 153 expected to return to Plymouth. Recently acquired E200s 167 will will be Plymouth based along with 168 when it comes back from refurbishment shortly leaving 169 and 170 to be converted. Three short 8.9M E200 are expected from Cornwall later to replace Dart 251 and E200s 160 and 161.

Coaches

When the E400s transfer to the training fleet its expected that the coaches 313 314 currently in use will be withdrawn with 317 and possibly 316 being retained in the coach fleet.

As always plan can and do change – Ive lost count of how many times we were expecting the Darts to be withdrawn, but they still solder on… but if you are lucky enough to spot a dart or a Citaro out and about then get your phots while you can!

Beachballs Part 1

My last few weeks in the city centre have allowed me finally to catch the new Stagecoach liveried buses in the flesh for the first time, and I have to say I am not that impressed!

Incoming Plymouth Citybus Enviros

The first of the long awaited Enviro 200s from Go Ahead London have now arrived at Milehouse:

SE223 YY64YXH, SE224 YY64TXJ SE225 YY64TXK Alexander Dennis E20D with B25D bodywork.

The whole batch should be SE221-230 with a few more due this week although SE221 at least may be a while later.

Fleet numbers will probably follow on from the other recent Enviro 200s as 167 to 176 but this has yet to be confirmed.

Target Travel Enviros

Target Travel will be ceasing their current operations in October so will be disposing most of their bus fleet. Two buses which have already been sold apparently are the Enviros 200s.

Bradley Darlington caught YX09FLR on camera a few days ago:

Target has applied for a new licence for around 20 buses/coaches, if they get that then they will carry on with stuff like "PAFC teamcoach" "PAFC Shuttles" "Torbridge School" and maybe Tesco shoppers.

Clearly now is the time to get your Target Travel bus photos before they go. I will certainly miss their current livery which does look really smart on their double deckers.

Stagecoach Swap Plymouth E200s for Exeter Darts

It wasn't that long ago that Stagecoach swapped Enviro 400s from the Plymouth - Dartmouth service 3 for Enviros 200s from Stagecoach in Chester. Well now the smart E200s have been transferred away from Plymouth and are Exeter based.

Dennis Dart 29 T129EFJ is currently at Hants & Dorset to be brought up to full DDA compliance. Others will also be making the journey over the coming weeks.

New Enviros

Plymouth continues to get treated with new buses. The first of the new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200s have now arrived at Milehouse for Plymouth Citybus. The first few noted are in red livery and are expected to get full swoops before being placed into service.
