Herbert gets a new coat

The former Brighton & Hove Scania’s are finally starting to go through the paint shop with 6013 being the first to emerge in the new ‘connections’ livery. Looking very smart too.

Thanks to Mark Bailey for the photo.

As much as I like B&H livery, I think I prefer her current state (although I prefer the swoop). I am sure there will be plenty of people who will disagree though!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Life before, during, and after Plymouth

Richard Anscombe came across this beastie at Malmesbury Garden Centre on the 16th November:

How to disguise ex London PVL 158 - X558 EGK - seen at Malmesbury garden centre as HXZ 9743 on Fri 16.11.18. It has been with Plymouth Citybus and Target Travel in between.

You may recognise the registration - and the livery:

And of course before that it looked like this

Plymouth Citybus 424 X558EGK

I never did like this livery - but it did look good on these buses

And going back even further it started off life in London:

Just passing Through

A nice line up of Plaxton bodied Volvo double deckers at Chambers including two which seem familiar. Y731TGH and X507EGK were Plymouth Citybus 449 and 450 respectively although they both carry former London livery as they were not in Plymouth long enough to gain Citybus colours. Ironically, if they stay with Chambers its quite likely that they will be repainted into Chambers new livery which just happens to be almost identical to the dark red front former livery... If you look carefully you will see that 450 has an extra 1 - its now fleet number 1450. P1060496

449 was used in Plymouth for a brief period on schools services:

An Influential Life After Plymouth

I was running through my usual reading list when I recognised an old friend. Looking just as it did when it left Plymouth, South Gloucestershire Bus & Coach Volvo G614OTV in full Student Link livery was noted on the 3rd September

The next photo was of an much older Volvo / Alexander bus in the form of A288TSN a former Tayside bus, in the same livery! You could also argue that the less than subtle door conversion carries a hint of Plymouth too...
