Citybus Paintshop

Its been a while since there was any fleet news here – partly because not a lot is happening at the moment!

However thanks to Jason Beverley we have some repaint news for Plymouth Citybus:

Plymouth Citybus 167 LX07BXD

167 has now been finished in Transport for Cornwall livery

Plymouth Citybus 565

565 is in being prepped for advert livery / wrap – No details as to what this is yet..

and finally for now..

Plymouth Citybus 522

522 is also in the paint shop – to receive Transport for Cornwall livery

The Great Britain Sail Grand Prix Bus

There were a couple of good reasons why there were no postings over the weekend. First of all I have l a lot less time while I look after my wife as she recovers, but also – there wasn't actually anything to post for the usual Devon & Cornwall Transit posts. No new service changes were registered last week and no services are changing this week. Its been a while since that last happened!

However, one thing that has happened is the new livery wrap on Plymouth Citybus 576 which I think is one of the nicest ones for a while. Thanks to Jason Beverley for the photos.

Herbert gets a new coat

The former Brighton & Hove Scania’s are finally starting to go through the paint shop with 6013 being the first to emerge in the new ‘connections’ livery. Looking very smart too.

Thanks to Mark Bailey for the photo.

As much as I like B&H livery, I think I prefer her current state (although I prefer the swoop). I am sure there will be plenty of people who will disagree though!

Happy Easter Everyone!

From Green Flash to Plain Red

157 has lost her Green Flash livery and is currently running in plain red, presumably waiting to gain the red lines – or will it be swoops for Plymouth Citybus. I believe she did carry Transport for Cornwall names for a short while

Citybus Pride

There have been rumours of a Pride bus for Plymouth for months now, but it is finally reality – and I think it looks really smart. It will certainly be noticed!

Green, Yellow and now Purple

The Plymouth Citybus Enviro fleet is currently available in a variety of liveries - with another new one fresh out of the paint shop:
Plymouth Citybus 538

538 now advertises All Saints Academy loosing its previous Yellow Flash livery

The Sound of the Citybus

The latest advert livery to hit Plymouth is Citybus 501 in a new blue based scheme for Radio Plymouth

Of course 501 has been blue before…

Plymouth Citybus 501 WF63LZA

but was more recently Red Flash

Plymouth Citybus 501 WF63LZA

The old Radio Plymouth bus was Volvo East Lancs 401 in a much nicer scheme

I believe this is still in service at the moment but I guess it wont be around for much longer?

The Pink Bus - Launches today

As mentioned a few days ago, Plymouth Citybus are launching their new pink bus in support of Brain Tumour Research. If you are in the City Centre Thursday 29th between 09:00 and 13:00 then you probably wont be able to miss it!

For those that wont be there, don't worry as we have a few pictures taken at Milehouse yesterday by Brian George…

Hopefully I will get into town myself during the day so may get some more!

Its always nice to see the local operators supporting local charity campaigns like this.

More Flash Less Drab

Have been catching up on some changes to the Plymouth Citybus Fleetlist from the last few weeks:

109 is the latest Blue Flash

21875526_10156455080555752_85510325_o

© Jason Beverley - with thanks.

Now looking a lot smarter than the previous livery:

Plymouth Citybus 109 WA12ADV

This livery is now eliminated from the fleet as the last Dart in the scheme is currently out of service awaiting repaint along with a few of the others: 68 70 71 72 75 78

This means the end of this livery: Plymouth Citybus 068 WA03BHX

In my opinion the best of the Dart liveries

And the other Dart livery which is no more Plymouth Citybus 072 WA54JVV

This livery may be dull ( yes it is!) but its not as bad as the scheme they carried when new… Plymouth Citybus 072 WA54JVV

so its goodbye to one of the most meaningless brands in Citybus history: SuperRider GOLD. I honestly cant think of anything that these buses had which set them up as Gold compared to the previous in-Gold buses.

I don't want to end a post on a low note so we have Citybus 108 stabled at Roselyns Parr base which Citybus now share.

Callywith College

Plymouth Citybus may have lost the Plymouth City College bus to Stagecoach but they have won a major contract for Callywith College in Bodmin which starts operation at the beginning of September which brings with it a new livery…

Plymouth Citybus 518 Plymouth Citybus 518 Plymouth Citybus 518

The network has a new timetable leaflet Callywith1 Callywith2

Full PDF on Plymouth Citybus Page HERE  or my archive copy HERE

What I am not sure of is what are the buses doing the rest of the day? Apart from the two 11’s which presumably run all day, that's 6 buses arriving at Bodmin 9am then leaving at the end of the day.

Fleet News: Plymouth Citybus

Just the one repaint, but it is slightly interesting!

135 has been repainted, but not into swoops as would have been expected, instead it has become a Green Flash.

Plymouth Citybus 135 WA56HHN

Of course the Green recently lost their two Enviro 400s to Yellow Flash

Plymouth Citybus 135 WA56HHN

135 is also interesting in that it is yet another one out of the dark red front livery

Plymouth Citybus 135 WA56HHN

And before that it was in the unusual route branding for the 34 which looked great when it was first done but faded badly as can be seen below. It was also horrible to ride in due to all that stuff over the windows!

Plymouth Citybus 135 WA56HHN

Thanks to Richard for supply all the photos above!
