The home of anything and everything to do with transport in and around Plymouth for EIGHTEEN YEARS!
It has been very quiet but there are signs of fleet investment for Citybus in the next few months. The first of 4 Enviros have already arrived in Plymouth with more E200 and E400s expected over the new few months. Stagecoach are also expecting new buses this year. As for Plymothian Transit I am hoping to increase the number of posts although I have said this several times before...

Following a comprehensive review of our popular Service 12, there will be a number of significant changes to the timetable, which are designed to better match passenger demand.
There will be changes to the frequency of buses on Service 12, supplemented by buses running between Regent Close, Torquay and Brixham.
Monday to Friday daytimes buses will run every 15 minutes between Newton Abbot and Brixham, supplemented by buses between Torquay and Brixham every 15 minutes providing a combined 7/8 minute frequency along the busiest section of route.
This will also be the case on Saturday daytimes, with buses every 20 minutes between Newton Abbot and Brixham buses, supplemented by buses running every 20 minutes between Torquay and Brixham, providing a combined 10 minute frequency along the busiest section of route.
There will be no changes to the frequency of buses on Sunday and Public Holidays, with buses continuing to operate every 20 minutes during the main part of the day.
We have undergone a review of demand for travel during the evening and overnight on the service. As a result, the frequency of buses daily after 1900 until the end of service will be reduced from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. In addition, the night journeys introduced last May on a trial basis will be withdrawn as they have not proved to be commercially viable.

Citybus Fleet Update

A few updates on Plymouth Citybus

Another three Enviro 400s from Oxford have arrived this week, former Oxford 300, 303 and 308. We now have a better idea of their fleet numbers with two of them now carrying numbers in the 5000’s as shown below. They are generally having their Oxford names removed and being readied for service in their base colours although former 300 SN60BXW carries a special livery so may need a bit more work

The Oxford buses will see off the Scania double deckers. The current plan is that up to 6 more Scanias will Dartline 6001-6004 in time for the new school year in September. It is also expected that some of the remaining ones will become trainers in due course.

One final bit of fleet news is that Citybus 136 was badly damaged by fire on the A38 this weekend.

The bus was not in service at the time as it was under test. I would not expect it to be repaired in view of its age.
