Parsons MAN

Parsons W30PAR

I do like trucks with 'Select' registrations which match the company name. W30PAR was actually registered in July 2008 and looks very smart, as this fleet always does.

Stepping up

I managed to get into town on Friday last week and spent just twenty minutes taking a few photos. I had planned to get out a bit more this week while I was off on leave and Zak was at school - however Zak is home poorly so I haven't been out of the house all week!

CITYBUS: As part of a future marketing promotion Plymouth Citybus is looking for a selection of what can best be described as local icons that represent Plymouth. Some examples would be Smeaton's Tower, Mayflower Steps, and Home Park. Can you come up with other suggestions for suitable icons...
CITYBUS Due to temporary traffic lights in the Cumberland Gardens area our services 26, 34, 46, and 47 are running extremely late We apologise for these delays which are completely beyond our control

An essential part of any training for new bus drivers should be to warn them to get used to being photographed. I therefore like to think I am providing a service as part of this element in his future career...

Plymouth Citybus 23 changes its clothes

 Its no longer a wrap

The use of advertising wraps all over the windows is not one of my favourite examples of bus companies utilising their buses to full economic effect. They may in some circumstances look good from the outside but can be dreadful for those passengers sitting inside who surely should be the most important people to please. When it is wet it can be really dull inside and almost impossible to see out of. That said I have always quite liked these Recycle Plymouth buses which at least managed to pull of the looking good from the outside bit, something which all to often is not achieved. Well it appears that the promotion may be coming to an end as this bus (number 23) at least has now lost the wrap and is back in standard livery, and looking rather smart with it. I do hope to get a photo soon, but for now make do with a reminder of this bus looking at its best in the green wrap... Plymouth Citybus 023 R123OFJ

There may be gaps in blog coverage again as I am still having major issues with the new PC and will almost certainly be sending it back shortly. I do still have the old machine to fall back on so hopefully any gap will be a short one but at the moment I am so fed up with the new PC crashing all the time it kind of takes the fun out of things.

Dull start to a very long trip

National Express to London

On Monday morning this week my lovely wife Jane departed from Plymouth Bretonside coach station on the long journey to The Philippines. As I write this on Friday morning she has just arrived on the actual island where she will be staying for the next week or so. The first part of her journey was this National Express Volvo Plaxton coach belonging to Parks Coaches. The last National Express run she did was on one of the fine Neoplan Skyliners so this was a bit of a disappointment! Parks LSK612

Shearings Backsides

The backsides of Shearings: 2004 to 2010

Its a shame to see the Wallace Arnold name slowly disappear, even if its just reduced to WA. That said the blue livery carried by the latest coaches is very smart and the new Setra coaches seem to be very impressive machines. Its nice to see back windows reappearing as well! The Dennis Dart

Walking down the hill to my home this evening I was very surprised to see a bus with a large Dennis Dart poster on the back. I had my camera in my bag, and luckily the bus stood long enough for me to grab a very quick photo. Plymouth Citybus 112 L112YOD (by didbygraham) For more details visit the Dennis Dart Bus web site
