Citybus Repaints

Plymouth Citybus have slightly speeded up repaints into the new livery with 39 being the latest having lost the horrible advert wrap.

A short while ago Enviro 142 was repainted into the new livery. Like 39 above I finally caught it on camera 1st June... Plymouth Citybus 142 WA08LDV

  • An interesting opportunity to find out “what if?” occurred yesterday when NBfL ran in public service well outside London Travelcard Zone 6, indeed most of the route was well away from public roads! Omnibuses
  • The roof has to be brought down on a low loader. This was cheaper than paying for crane hire at Portswood and replacing the roof onto the body. Then there was the sourcing of six tyres as tyres are an extra £1000 ! TGP

  2. The first of the resprays to leave room for private external advertising... No room on the sides though

  3. 142 has an advert on the back.

  4. On 67, the fleet number on the rear of the bus is positioned under the CCTV camera at the top, on 39 and the new Wrights it has moved to the usual position of middle of the bus and to the left hand side??

  5. I will take your word for that Tom... But as I say, I don't know of any other resprays with advertising space externaly... PCB seem to prefer the full wraps nowdays

  6. ^ That may have something to do with 67 being the first bus into this livery, and they may have made some minor amendments to the livery like you've mentioned.

  7. ^That comment was in response to Anon @ 2214.

I saw 142 several times today and I'm pretty sure it had a rear ad. I can confirm that I have seen it with a rear ad before, and I'm pretty sure it's still there.

Personally, I prefer the full wraps, as they certainly draw a lot more attention to themselves, and generally look a lot smarter than scruffy side ads. The latest AOAs on the Plaxton Presidents I think look fantastic, especially the National Marine Aquarium one on 425. It obviously costs a lot more for the advertiser, though in my opinion it's certainly worth it!

  8. The fleet number is also on the opposite on the front of 67 too!

  11. Is it me, or is the T139 EFJ looking a tad bendy? The body appears to have flexed behind the rear axle!

  12. Does indeed look a little bent.

The SPDs are my favourite in the PCB fleet, fast and comfy but they rattle like hell and are a wee bit noisey!
