When Plymouth Citybus finally announced they were going to Mountbatten all eyes turned to First to see how they would respond to the increased competition on one of the few areas they had left to themselves. It has to be said that the response so far has been very limited…
So far in fact all I have seen is a small fares promotion:
NEW £1 single fares in Mount Batten, Plymstock and Mannamead….
From Sunday 29 March we’re introducing some new £1 adult fare for any single journey on the following routes:
Service 2 between Morrisons roundabout and Mount Batten (can also be bought on services 48 and 93 for journeys within Plymstock as far as Morrisons roundabout)
Service 15 and 86 between The Golden Hind (Mannamead Road) and Plymouth City Centre
Simply ask for a single within these two points of each of the above routes to pay just £1. And better still as young people aged 5-18 and NUS card holders (any age) pay half the adult fare they will only pay 50p for a single on these sections of the route!
This weekend sees the start of the new increased competition with the new 4 4A, 5 5A routes of Plymouth Citybus up against First 2.
As expected Plymouth Citybus have announced a fare deal of their own…
So lets just have a quick recap on the Plymstock routes as from this weekend:
