Another quiet week but at least these are changes planned for the future rather than catching up on changes that have already happened!

Mainly we have AB Coaches making a few alterations to their school services and Dart Pleasure Craft (Riverlink) registering their Round Robin Tour for the new season in April.

It seems that once they have been sorted out they will eventually be heading towards Cornwall fleet as they are Euro 6 converted, which will then release some of the Enviros in Cornwall back to Plymouth which will then in turn start to see off remaining Darts, Volvo B7s and Mercedes Citaros

Devon & Cornwall Transit 2022: Week 6

The weekly look back on what has been published on the Registered Local Bus Services site over the last week. As always click through for more details including timetables and maps.

Its been a quiet week – There is just the one new registration, Stagecoach 360 which replaces Country Bus on the same route – their cancellation is also repeated for completeness as its the only change due this week

Licence Route Start Point End Point Effective NotesOPERATOR
PH1017984.111 360 BRIDFORD SHELTER EXETER BUS STATION 13-Feb-2022 cancellation ALANSWAY COACHES LTD
PH1020951.353 360 Exeter Sidwell Street Bridford & Christow 14-Feb-2022 NEW ROUTE Replaces Country Bus:
We are pleased to announce that from Monday 14th February we will be operating a new service between Exeter and Bridford, running from Mondays right through to Saturdays in partnership with Devon County Council. The new route, numbered 360, connects Bridford with Exeter operating via Christow and Dunchideock.
For residents of Bridford, 4 trips depart every day into the city centre, from 0715 in the morning, with the final afternoon journey being at 1402. The journey time is just under an hour, meaning you’ll arrive into the city at 0813 ready to start your day. The last departure back from Exeter Sidwell Street Stop 40 is at 1755, perfectly timed for commuters heading home for the evening.
If you’re heading into Exeter for a day out why not try one of our later departures from Bridford? We’ve also got 5 trips heading back from Exeter nicely timed at 0835, 115, 1315, 1615 and lastly at 1755.
A single trip is great value at just £3.60, so if you’re planning a day out in Exeter or heading to work, give the new 360 a try from Monday 14th February.

Its nice to see Stagecoach promoting the service on Twitter but dont try and search for the 360 on their web site just yet!

Devon & Cornwall Transit 2022: Week 5

The weekly look back on what has been published on the Registered Local Bus Services site over the last week. As always click through for more details including timetables and maps.

Its been a quiet week – just the one cancellation from MD Buses – although this might be administrative only as there was another lkicence for this service under PH2008096/3 which seemed identical, and that has not been cancelled as far as I can see and the route is still running according to Traveline

Once again there are no other service changes due this coming week either.

Bus Crash Cornwall

Emergency services were called after a bus crashed into a ditch off a road in St Columb. The incident occurred at around 9.55pm last night, February 5, in Chapel Road in Higher Fraddon. One person, believed to be a young woman, was still inside the vehicle when firefighters arrived at the scene. It has not yet been confirmed by police how the bus came to land on the grass verge. However, a passenger on the bus has claimed on social media that another vehicle was involved in a collision. She said: "I don't know for certain but from the impact, a vehicle hit the bus from behind and sent it into the verge as there were witnesses."

Transport For Cornwall Web Site

The Transport for Cornwall project is slowly coming along and I see they have now updated their web site and separated it out from the Go Cornwall page. Screen shot from the new site is below. The white space in the middle does contain a diagrammatic map on the site which hasn't come through onto the screen shot sadly.

web site

Its still clearly a work in progress and it will be interesting to see how it develops over the coming months and hopefully will be completed before the summer season so it will be a lot more useful for holiday makers.
