Dartmoor explorers

A couple of pictures of the new Dartmoor Explorers have been sent in – thanks to the photographer! They certainly look very smart.

This also seems as good a place as any to say that my First South West fleet listing has been brought up to date.

The usual caveats – this is my own list rather than an official fleet listing!

  1. Lovely looking. Will add some colour to Plymouth. Been lots of comings and goings to/from Hants & Dorset Trim for Citybus with the 5000 range Enviro 400s and one of the ex London E200MMCs

    2. Flying through the conversions! I noticed the other day that 477 already had a rear escape door has that been converted yet?

    3. It's quite sad that all the citybus conversions aren't done at Milehouse any more but outsourced instead. More local jobs gone and expertise lost forever.

    4. 477 is indeed still dual door - and looking pretty rough too!

  6. PCB 69plate MMC seen rubbed down entering paint sheds and again today seen in engineering sheds, the rear (all I could see) painted in blue.

Perhaps works completed and new livery for the one that was damaged in the depot?

  7. There's only 5 darts left. Not sure how many are actually left at Milehouse but only 60 63 77 251 and 254 in service

  9. Only 1 year ... do we think that will be the end of Stagecoach in Plymouth then or find alternative depot?

    1. Go od question, one year hardly affords SC long term security in Plymouth!!

    2. Still adds up to someone else perhaps taking over from Stagecoach when pandemic over? I would imagine that any big change at mo could result in no government funding. With funding Stagecoach probably doing ok in Plymouth so happy to stick it out for a year or so?

  10. Sign me up for a seat on The North Plymouth Tour. Absolutely brilliant idea, it has made my day and I would love to know how the picture was created ?
