ReplyDeleteNow that ocean city sights has finished they are using the ocs busses on the 25 this September. Finally it should have more passengers as the 25 is always busy.
ReplyDeleteOCS in Plymouth finished yesterday -- but the 25 around the Hoe was open top today, with same ex-city Sightseeing bus as used last year. With the 25 on diversion, due to road works on the Barbican, more great views too!
ReplyDeleteEver since the 26th May frequency change for 23/24 the busses seem to be running late. Today on the 24 the driver wasn't bothered to look before he went into queens road and a taxi zoomed down the road so the tyres screeched to a halt. At greenbank fire station the driver didn't pull into the kerb which is fine if your a young person. 2 old people got off the bus. A man with a walker attempted to board the bus, the driver wasn't bothered to pull into the kerb so he got out to help him. As this was going on the old man that had just got off the bus fell off the kerb staight into the side of the bus. After all that the driver went to pull away but the handbrake wouldn't work. After 5 attempts it was moving again.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how these bus drivers work for citybus as they go speeding around built up areas like mount gould and are never bothered to do things.
Any bus driver who pulled a 24 into the kerb at the Greenbank fire station stop would have to be as stupid as anonymous (14:24 on 3rd September) appears to be as they'd have to reverse the bus out of the stop again. Citybus drivers aren't 'bothered to do things' yet this one got out of the bus to help the man with the walker. May I suggest that the old man who got off the bus at Greenbank had just had 10 pints of ESB in the Noah's Ark before he got on the 24 and was going to fall off the kerb anyway and that the taxi driver was at fault for driving too fast in a narrow street? We'll never know for sure, will we? Finally, perhaps the roadworks on Exeter Street viaduct don't help with time keeping on the 23 and 24 at the moment, though in my experience this has been considerably better since the temporary traffic lights on Tothill Avenue were removed and it is the reduction in service frequency that most passengers are actually complaining about.
