Both are Duple bodied coaches that proudly carry the Royal Blue livery. One is an elegant machine that you just cant help but admire. The other one is just plain ugly. Which is which? You decide!

A tale of two Volvos

Plymouth Citybus 189 F606GVO

The Volvo Citybus fleet continues in service into 2008. many of these are in yellow Student Link livery but there are a few in advert liveries. Laying over at Bretonside on Tuesday afternoon this week were 189 (above) and 190 (below). These fine old buses are still useful with their large seating capacity, even if they are high floor - and some of them do smell a bit! I for one still let the Darts go by when I know I can catch a Volvo Double decker home from work. (Sadly I have to wait till the schools go back in January!)

(No posting tomorrow as I have the works 'Christmas Do' so wont be here to blog. Hopefully Saturday I will get the chance to post something.

A Tale of Two Bus Stops

Keswick Crescent Estover. There are two bus stops at the bottom of the hill. This nice one with a shelter, raised kerb, timetables, and even a seat.

And then on the other side is thisKeswick Cresent Bus Stop

Guess which side I have to stand at each morning in the wind and the rain!

A tale of two buses

Plymouth Citybus 173 G643CHF

173 G643CHF Plymouth Citybus.

Plymouth Citybus 174 G640CHF

174 G640CHF Plymouth Citybus.

One of them is a bit jerky when it breaks but it can really shift The other is a lot smoother but totally lacking in power to get up hills (kind of useful in Plymouth!).

I think the slower one is 173 - the climb up Keswick Crescent was embarrasingly slow!
