Tamar Coaches

While Plymouth Citybus have not had anything new for a while we do have Tamar Coaches who have been investing in their extremely smart fleet.

“Further to the recent comment regarding Tamar Coaches' new VDL Futura 2, this is YG74 CUU working a GWR Plymouth to Liskeard rail replacement service on Tuesday 3 December.”

This will be the last post this week so I want to wish you all  Very Happy Christmas

Its all nice and quiet at the moment but 2025 promises to be a lot more interesting with plenty of new buses hitting the streets of Plymouth with even more new buses for Exeter, Torbay and North Devon.

  1. Fleet news in with GSW - the fleet numbers given to the buses which were in the Travel Cornwall Fleet are very strange, unless BusTimes is totally incorrect.

    173>* for the E200s
6801-02 for 2 of the Mercs
    2101-02 - for 2 other Mercs...
and 1319-20 for the other two?!

in addition to that, 59 new electrics will start arriving from April - it's believed that the majority of these will be single deck GB Kite, whereas at least 10 will be DD Electroliners for Rame.

    1. I thought they were all going to be deckers - six (not ten) for the 70 group (this being the Cornwall element of the bid), and the rest split between routes 21/21A and the 42 group.

    2. 59? Has this changed? The original Zebra 2 announcement was for 50 deckers (see PT post of 18 Sept last year), subsequently said to be all StreetDecks, 44 for Plymouth and 6 for Rame.

    1. Buses due for replacement:
      pre 08 E200s, 08 E200s, MAN Gas buses (24)

      06/07/57 ex London (29)
      Scanias to Dartline.(4 or 5)

Reminder that the E400s now on Rame will be displaced throughout the fleet, so the need for Deckers isn't quite as high as before.
