  4. It angers me every time I see the Santabus that PCB actually paid to convert that into something that comes out once a year when it was a perfectly good E400? Unless anyone else has any more information on it, it just sits there rotting at the back of Milehouse depot?

    1. It's one of the two ex-London E400s that was converted to semi-open top for Ocean City Sights ans can often be seen on the 25 in the Summer season. To get "angry" about a bit of fun and some good PR is a bit OTT if you ask me.

    2. Pretty much! Just goes to show the incompetence of the management at PCB but he paints everything rosy whilst putting up fare prices.

    3. Citybus fares have hardly been going up that much compared with prices for just about everything else. Fare have only gone up in April 2022 and January 2023, the last rise before that was back in 2019. With the £2 single fare many passengers will still be paying less that they were before. Maybe if the fares had gone up as normal and the fare deal wasnt in place there would be more money to spend on the fleet. Its not just Citybus who havent been buying new buses for a while. Stagecoach Devon's last new buses were in November 2018

    4. Stagecoach just put my return fare up by £1. They are still significantly cheaper than Citybus with their fare capped fare!

  5. Wouldn't be surprised if on tv they paid to do an advert with bus in style of cocacola advert even tho they made job cuts due to lack of funds.

    1. As a driver the 04 plate solos are still quite nice to drive. They don’t feel tired like newer (old shape) solos I’ve driven elsewhere. Interiors are also pretty tidy for their age. Their age isn’t everything when they’ve clearly had a refurb and are well maintained.

  7. @julian the santa bus never goes on the 25 as the seating upstairs is different so cant be used for service.

    1. ref the santa bus - exactly what @Anon said - it literally rots at the back of Milehouse as it cant be used for pass service.
