Unless I have missed this up until now, the latest advert wrap for Plymouth Citybus presented itself to me this evening at Derriford Hospital…

  1. Poorly done but then PCB even in the council days had a habit of just slapping it on lol

  2. Not a fan of this wrap... Looks a bit silly to be honest

    1. What is it with Milehouse and half a job repaints/wraps. That looks awful with the red front. Sadly its not alone and a frw buses are like it. 470/501/514/516 and 4011 all have the same issue. 501 also had a red front with its Radio Plymouth livery. Its a shame as some of the other buses in the fleet such as 468 (open top Ocean City) 538 (All Saints) and 571 (Queens Award) and 509s previous Mayflower livery all looked fairly smart with the full repaint.

    2. its pretty much standard practice across the industry, most operators leave the front in standard livery.

  3. CityBus 530 was back on the road yesterday (6/10/23) and 4014 is back on today (7/10/23), both been off the road since March for various reasons

    2. Wow! I didn’t think 4014 was actually coming into service to be honest! Good to see 530 back as it seemed almost criminal to dispose of it.

Any other interesting fleet news, not had the chance to look at the fleet in a long time

    3. well the 56/07/57 plate E200s should be on the move in the next 6 weeks with hand me downs from GNE on their way (supposedly)

    4. interesting - i guess thats 134, the ex EYMS ones and the 2 ex London 07 ones? any ideas of what hand-me-down’s we’re getting?

anything else? i see the ex Brighton scanias are basically only being used on school services now…

    5. Saw 530 on Royal Parade yesterday- is is noticeable as it now has a pair horizontal bars across the front window on the upper deck- presumably a structual feature to help protect the vehicle from damage. 530 has been very unlucky as it was involved in a crash near Newquay previously. Came back on the road and within months it was off again awaiting the roof repairs its just had

    6. yes 134, 162 - 168 - ex Brighton Scanias have been phased out by 4000 E400s fleet nos. but still required for schools.

    1. i was just thinking that... i mean they're all well past their best.... they all sound like they're gonna fall apart with how much they rattle. the 2 ex London ones aren't as bad, but still look tired.

equally the old scania's and the remaining 06 E400's are probs destined for scrap?

  5. PCB have no plans at current to withdraw anything other than the older E200s until 2024 at the earliest. More handmedowns from group to replace them
