Devon & Cornwall Transit 2022 Week 41

The weekly look back on what has been published on the Registered Local Bus Services site over the last week. As always click through for more details including timetables and maps.

  • Another bumper selection this week with lots of new Devon CC Contracts for Plymouth Citybus along with quite a few timetables changes for Callywith College due to revised finish times at the college. Most of these are for the end of October. We do have a few with the effective date of 4/5th October – although none of these have new timetables published on Traveline so far.
  • Away from Citybus we have new Devon CC services for Greenslades and Dartline
  • Finally we have the adjustments to Stagecoach Gold which are late notices from the end of September bringing the full service under one registration.

  1. Why am i not surprised that the 28/60 thing didn't last long. What a absolute nightmare they made of that in the first place

    1. It was all down to trying to fill the gap left by Stagecoach who suddenly decided to drop the Milehouse Park & Ride totally. It remains to be seen if the new route makes it easier

  2. It will be operating the same as it is now it is only the route numbers that have changed. I have already been all the way round.

  3. Note 34 will additionally serve George Park and Ride site restoring links lost on Stagecoach 101 no longer running to bolster its Mutley 1

  4. Oh dear, oh dear... the 28/60 thing, CityBus made a right mess of that. On the plus side, living in Austin Farm at Eggbuckland, that gave a direct 28 to both Transit Way Shopping Centre and the Stadio Bolitho, home of Plymouth Parkway F.C., so that's proved to be useful. On the downside, there's now no evening service at all in Eggbuckland, really bad for people that work late or go to the cinema/theatre/pub/club or whatever along with no bus before 9am on Saturdays. Timekeeping so far has been really bad, some run on time but generally they're 5 to 10 minutes late, and quite often 20 to 30 minutes late.

The change to the whole route being 60/61 from 30-10-22 retains the route from Eggbuckland to Transit Way but removes the Stadio Bolitho option as it now goes Crownhill Flyover direct to Transit Way via Crownhill Road rather than via Manadon Roundabout and St.Peter's Road, but it does introduce a couple of evening journeys. Phew! Who dreams all this up at CityBus Towers?!? So it'll still be a complete mess, only a slightly different mess.

Oh, Graham, I think you're thinking of the 27, that was extended beyond it's original Eggbuckland - Asda - Mainstone route up to the George P&R, which I presume was part of the funding contract with the Council, which apart from providing a bus to Estover Industrial Estate, it doesn't seem to have much other purpose - apart from a visit to the Toby Carvery!

    1. Thanks for your comments on the 60/61. As for the George - its the 34 that extends to the Park & Ride from Derriford to restore the Milhouse - Derriford - George link by Stagecoach. here are expected to be more hospital staff using the P&R from November as well, along with a planned increase in parking on site at some stage too.
