Devon & Cornwall Transit 2022 Week 40

The weekly look back on what has been published on the Registered Local Bus Services site over the last week. As always click through for more details including timetables and maps.

Quite a bit to cover this last week with a lot more detail on the changes at the end of October by Stagecoach. The odd one out being a very late cancellation coming through for Oakleys 59 that came to an end in August!

PH1020951.237 3 Plymouth Kingsbridge 30-Oct-2022 There will be changes to the way in which Service 3 operates from 30 October 2022, with the service operating as two separate services. Service 3 will operate between Plymouth and Kingsbridge and a new Service 93 will operate between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.

The frequency of buses will remain the same at up to every 60 minutes Monday to Friday and Saturday daytime on both services, with a limited Sunday and Public Holiday timetable on Service 93 between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.

A number of departure times are revised, however, where possible school, college and commuter journeys remain largely unchanged.

Customers wishing to make journeys that involve travelling across Kingsbridge, will be able to do so and remain on the same vehicle.  Customers will be able to purchase through tickets for travel across Kingsbridge and the timetable is designed to ensure Services 3 and 93 connect with each other in each direction. PH1020951.091 13 13C 13D Kingsteignton Brixham 02-Oct-2022 Due to low customer demand, the Service 13 route and timetable are being redesigned to provide a simpler, sustainable service for the future with more unique areas served.
The route will be amended to operate between Brixham and Torbay Hospital only, with the section of route between Torbay Hospital and Kingsteignton withdrawn.  To simplify the route Paignton Bus Station will no longer be served, however, Service 12 will provide an alternative in many cases.
Service 13 will operate every 60 minutes Monday to Friday daytime, with no service at the weekend.
To accommodate staff working at Torbay Hospital, the timetable has been designed to accommodate a pre-0800 arrival and an additional evening return journey at 2015 will be introduced.
School and college journeys will operate as Services 13C, 13D or 53.		 STAGECOACH DEVON LTD

PH1020951.369 53 Kingsteignton Torbay Hospital 02-Oct-2022 A new Service 53, operated under contract to Devon County Council will operate six journeys per day Monday to Friday between Kingsteignton and Torbay Hospital and will provide a replacement for the withdrawn section of route on Service 13. Connections at Torbay Hospital will allow customers to connect between Services 13 and 53 for any journeys that involve travel across Torbay Hospital. Following a recent re-tendering exercise by Devon County Council, Stagecoach will commence operation of the Service 75 contract from week commencing 6 November 2022. Service 75 links Newton Abbot Hospital with Newtake / Decoy via the Town Centre and Railway Station up to every 30 minutes Monday to Friday and Saturday daytime.		 STAGECOACH DEVON LTD

To provide a partial replacement for withdrawn Service 56, a new Service 96 will be introduced and will operate under contract to Devon County Council. Service 96 will operate hourly Monday to Saturday daytime between Exmouth and Lympstone via Bryon Way.		 STAGECOACH DEVON LTD

Service 122 will pause operation until 2023. While there will be no direct service to Devon Bay, Services 12 and 120 continue to stop nearby on Dartmouth Road (Waterside Shops), with all other sections of the route served by other frequent services.		 STAGECOACH DEVON LTD
PH1020951.163 155 South Molton Barnstaple 30-Oct-2022 Service 155 will operate hourly Monday to Saturday daytimes between Barnstaple and South Molton only (one journey starts North Molton). Journeys will extend beyond Barnstaple Bus Station to Pottington Industrial Estate via Barnstaple Railway Station, providing additional local journey opportunities within Barnstaple. Where possible, school and college journeys will continue to operate as currently, including one journey serving North Molton.

Passengers travelling between Exeter and Tiverton will be able to use Service 55, which operates up to every 30 minutes.		 STAGECOACH DEVON LTD

PH1020951.376 317 Bideford Okehampton 30-Oct-2022 NEW: This replaces the 75A and 75B between Okehampton and Torrington and will operate via Weare Giffard and Devonshire Park between Torrington and Bideford replacing those sections of service 75/75A. It will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
