I have yet to see anything from Stagecoach regarding their service changes from the same weekend (although they don't always put it where you expect to see it)

  1. If I'm reading the new 11 timetable correctly, buses run from Plymouth to Padstow, but the return journey terminates at Bodmin Parkway, and there's a 30 minute wait for an onward connection. This may make sense to the scheduler, but what will the customer make of it? I can see many being put off.

    1. The timetable is likely designed around the core flows of passengers on what is a very long route serving many objectives.

  2. Gosh if citybus reduce and more service s it won't have anything left may as well reduce the day ticket in Plymouth to £3 not worth £5 for a dayrider

  4. It's only a few months ago Citybus reduced the service on route 12, now it's been cut back even further! No wonder people in Bude & Launceston don't use the bus.

    1. It didnt seem that long ago that there was just the one daily service - a Jennings coach from Bude in the morning returning from Plymouth in the evening so its still a lot better than it used to be. If it was used enough then the full service would be maintained.

    2. I've always remembered First with the X8 which was very good, Western Greyhound also had a good service but Citybus seems to be constantly chopping and changing this route. Which I thought was part of the TFC contract now?

    3. The X8 wasn't too bad, but at its best was only every two hours and didn't run Sundays so todays service is still better than that. Only lasted April 2003 to May 2007 so wasn't a massive success. I did have a soft spot for WG but it has to be remembered that Citybus only started to venture into Cornwall because WG went bust in a very big way.

  5. I see as at Thursday 25/8/22 the list of changes on the Plymouth CityBus has been removed, with the explanation from CityBus that "The update had some missing information so has been taken down until it has been corrected it will be back up in the next few days". There must be a lot of missing stuff if it will take them a couple of days to re-type a webpage! Operational difficulties presumably.
