  1. Looks like Plymouth Citybus is taking over 55/56 Yelverton routes and 98 Postbridge routes from Oakleys

    1. Real Shame. Wish Citybus didn't have to.muscle in on everything and give others a chance to have a business!! I see Stagecoach 19 and 31 are cancelled suppose Citybus have this too!

    2. Its not a case of Citybus not giving anyone else a chance. The council put the services out to tender and the operators put in their bids. The council then decide who to give the contract too. These few routes have switched between City and Stagecoach (and Target / Oakleys too) many times over the years.

    3. I've been told that Citybus have won the tenders for all the Oakleys routes including the 52 and 59. Services will swap over on the 15th August. Seems strange when Citybus haven't got enough drivers available to cover their existing routes and don't appear to have many vehicles suited to these routes either.

    4. It is ridiculous seeing as they can't cover what they have In Plymouth particularly with the cornwall contracts they struggle to meet! They also have won the city college 36 contract off Stagecoach from next month

  2. I'm surprised there is no mention of "Tap and Cap" which Plymouth CityBus and Transport for Cornwall introduced on 26th July. It was formally launched by the Minister for Buses, Baroness Vere, the following day.

    1. Thanks Julian. There will be. I must admit I missed the update you link to - but was hoping to post once I had tried it. Sadly my first attempt didnt actually work! Trying again this week though

  3. Oakleys gave up the routes so they had to be retendered! Not muscling in at all or routine tendering.
