Devon & Cornwall Transit 2021 Week 16

The usual weekly look back on what has been published on the Registered Local Bus Services site over the last week. Click on the licence numbers for full details on each route including timetables and maps.

First South West registered a group of service changes for Somerset, one of them, the 30, enters into Devon and has a new timetable already in operation. The KERNOW side of the business has the new registrations for the Discover Exeter and Falmouth Coaster and then three new Newquay based open top services.

Plymouth Citybus made a short notice change to their 23/24 to increase service levels.

Looking ahead to previously announced service changes that are happening this week, we have the Somerset 30 and Citybus 23/24 as above but we we also have a couple of changes for Stagecoach which don't trouble the Registered Local Bus Services. At least I think we do…

PH1020951.038 4 4A 4B Exeter Bus Station Axminster Railway Station 18-Apr-2021 We are introducing a slightly revised timetable on our Route 4 buses which connect Exeter with Cranbrook, Ottery St Mary and Honiton. A new stop has been introduced on Younghayes Road in Cranbrook.

This is great news for residents of the new houses in this area, as your walk to the stop is now even shorter! Buses which serve the full route, extending on to Honiton or Axminster will now serve Younghayes Road. Shorter trips between Cranbrook and Exeter will serve both Younghayes Road and Shareford Way.

Stagecoach have published their new TT on their web site but Traveline still show the January 2021 times

PH1020951.136  21 21A Ilfracombe or Barnstaple Appledore or Westward Ho! 18-Apr-2021  A new timetable is introduced to with minor timing improvements to allow for a more reliable service. (18th of April).
No new TT published anywhere that I can see. SC own web site links to Traveline TT from january
STAGECOACH DEVON LTD

So the 4 does have a new timetable on the SC web site (at least they say its new but its undated) but Traveline still display the January timetables whilst for the 21 21A services Stagecoach link through to the Traveline timetable dated from January despite promising new times from 18th April. They do say they are minor timing improvements so it may be that the older timetables are still pretty much relevant in which case why confuse people by telling them? It does not help that the announcement on their web site was under the heading for service changes from the 4th April with the 18th mentioned in brackets! It really is next to impossible to track services by Stagecoach at the moment.I do wonder of Stagecoach have issues updating web site.

As has been mentioned in comments FSW have now released new timetables on Traveline for their new services so we will have having a closer look at a few of them this next week

  1. Stagecoach SW confirmed to me via WhatsApp that all timetables from April onwards will only be the Traveline format so we can assume the 'new' 4 one is the pre April one.
