Incoming Plymouth Citybus Enviros

The first of the long awaited Enviro 200s from Go Ahead London have now arrived at Milehouse:

Plymouth Citybus YY64TXJ

Plymouth Citybus YY64TXH

SE223 YY64YXH, SE224 YY64TXJ SE225 YY64TXK Alexander Dennis E20D with B25D bodywork.

The whole batch should be SE221-230 with a few more due this week although SE221 at least may be a while later.

Fleet numbers will probably follow on from the other recent Enviro 200s as 167 to 176 but this has yet to be confirmed.

Speaking of recent Enviro 200s…

  1. If they do a single door conversion these will end up with 30 seats, potentially ideal for GCB livery & routes

    1. the ex London buses aren't due for GCB duties as far as i'm aware. It'll be interesting to see how the conversion comes out considering the positioning of the doors / fire exit door etc

  2. Are these still set for gearbox conversion or is there a chance they'll go out on the road with their current ZF setup?

  4. After speaking to Mark Horide these will be sent out into service as they are, mechanically was implied, for Cornwall work, I am not sure what work such as branding will be done. This is very interesting as these have the ZF AStronic Lite gearboxes with Flywheel tech to reduce vibrations! Once they've been in service they will be evaluated and potentially gearbox replacements might be in order, what gearboxes they might recieve in the future is not a question as yet but I would assume the Allison 2100 as seen in our 65 plates.

    1. Jason said that they are suppost to be changing the gearboxes from Allison to ZF whilst they are being converted to single door.

    2. They already have ZF, if they were to convert them they would receive Allison... One is already at Hants and Dorset having the door conversion and the rest, for now, will likely see service Dual Door

  5. At least they are already in bland red livery. Stick a white line on it and it's ready for service

    1. If they are for Cornwall you will want to keep your eye out as they "may" not be as you expect.

  6. I have sent past Milehouse a few time in the last fortnight, and there are 2 E,200MMCs. One is plain red and the other is Plain White.

    1. The red one is for Go Cornwall operations, more to be revealed in time. The white one is a Demonstrator which will eventually return to its owner.

  7. I am hearing many rumours about these ex London buses at current, and it may well be that they are destined for Go Cornwall operations. As more details emerge ot seems like Go South West will probably be created as a franchise - similarly to Go South Coast, meaning the fleet numbers between GCB and PCB will most probably differ. I'm initially hearing the new E200 MMCs may have a 2000 range Fleet number. I could be totally wrong though.
