  1. The extension of 42 to Mainstone and Asda is an interesting one though! It does seem like other than Crownhill and Derriford, it won’t pick anyone up along the extended section through the industrial estate! Although I suppose given that it is to replace the 28A they aren’t necessarily looking for additional custom for the corridor.

  2. The only other way to reach Mainstone is across the top without choking miller way Asda and Dover road with buses. Taking the 28a off at Delamere Road and down Forder Valley to Novorossik that way is not practical as Delamere is too narrow and it would end up in queuing traffic the other side of the hill anyway

  3. Looks like the 337 is to be withdrawn the 338 is a new service to replace it which goes via birmingham tho it means the villages and towns on a46 are to be cut from nx network

  4. So the most interesting thing there is the extention of the 44A to Keyham you mentioned. I have probably missed it while looking around but that'll be pushing the route into becoming a huge loop at this rate. It will be interesting to see routes heading north out of George more often, this has only really been done by the 59 for quite a while now. Will also be good to see more buses going from outside the Art College towards Royal Parade soon as well, more excuse for me to be lazy and not walk to Royal Parade after using the facilities up there.

The key change I anticipate though is that 43 timetable... There is a horrid 25 minute gap between the 16:15 an 16:40 and it is right in the peak time...

  5. So Citybus fancies slice of George P+R-City Centre market off SC I assume??

    1. Not with their fares they won't

    2. Could this be an early move as I believe SC 101 park and ride will be extended to Woolwell once development there is complete?

    3. Interesting re 101 to Woolwell as not heard that yet, so do you think it's developer funding from new houses as confused why it wouldn't be awarded to the existing Citybus 42 group to delve deeper into newer areas of the estate??

    4. I think it is in green plan. 101 extended to Woolwell and 42 also increased in frequency to Woolwell. Perhaps 42 and 42c to Woolwell in future?

    5. Both routes are commercial routes so it would be up to Stagecoach if they would want to expand into Woolwell and potentially compete with Plymouth Citybus, not up to any awards. It could be a smart move but it would take a good while to actually produce much benefit in my opinions. Of course I am not an expert but I usually find loadings between Woolwell and Derriford quite slack and if they are to make a profit fares would likely need to rise when two companies are competing for the same amount of passengers. As seen with First bus competition in Plymouth is quite challenging and it would take time to see results. @Anonymous at 18:06 would you happen to be able to quote your source?

    1. Interesting. Have you seen a new 315 TT as doesn't appear to be one in online Nat Exp agents guide yet? What extra stops are being added to 315 in lieu of 304 as also no new 315 TT in guide yet. Indeed no clue there either about 304 is coming off!

    2. Our 315 drivers were moaning about it

  8. Exeter PR3 is hospital staff only, so I'm guessing that's why no timetable - SPR3 is the public service
