TAVISTOCK EVENT POSTPONED!

tavistockImportant news regarding the Tavistock Running Day…
The likelihood of heavy snowfall on Saturday night and Sunday has increased significantly in the last 24 hours, with a Met Office yellow weather warning in place for Devon.
Given the forecast is still a changing picture, we will be making a final decision on Saturday afternoon as to whether Tavistock Vintage Bus Running Day can go ahead on Sunday as planned, or will need to be postponed.
Please watch our Facebook page shown below as the first source of updates. Safety is our priority, that of the participants, the public and the vehicles. We apologise for any uncertainty this may bring to your weekend plans, but feel sure you'll appreciate that the final decision cannot be taken lightly.  https://www.facebook.com/tvagwot

UPDATE

With great regret we have decided that Tavistock Vintage Bus Running Day must be postponed due to the severe weather forecast for Devon for the next 48 hours.
As well as an 80% probability of heavy snowfall in Tavistock on the day itself, long periods of continuous heavy snowfall are forecast today and tomorrow for South Devon, where the majority of the buses are based in a remote location. For the safety of all participants, the general public and the vehicles themselves we have concluded that it would not be appropriate or possible to go ahead with the event tomorrow.
We have already received many messages of support from those who have travelled long distances to enjoy the event, and we thank you for your understanding. Our own team has travelled from as far afield as Yorkshire, Berkshire and Kent and we have all spent the night with heavy hearts, closely monitoring the forecast. Other key participants have chosen not to travel and we respect and support their decision.
We deeply regret the disappointment and inconvenience this will cause, but feel sure you will understand the importance of keeping everybody safe. We will be announcing an alternative date for the postponed event in due course and look forward to welcoming you to West Devon in more enjoyable conditions.
