Cornwall Transit 074 and a half

The latest batch of service changes for Plymouth Citybus took their time in getting through onto Traveline so were not available for last weeks Cornwall Transit. Rather than wait for another week I present the remaining Cornish service changes which take effect today - 30th October. The Devon side is taken care of tomorrow in the usual Devon Transit posting

Looking ahead I am thinking of trying something a bit different for November onwards as so many service changes are coming through late at the moment. The fortnightly updates for Devon & Cornwall mean that some service changes need to be in two weeks in advance which is frequently not happening these days. From November I will therefore combine Devon & Cornwall Transit and have a weekly update for the whole region. This will allow more time for all the information to come through and will also make life a bit less confusing for Plymouth Citybus who have services both sides of the great divide which will now be brought back together in future updates.

  1. In other Citybus news, the "new" 5/A is on Traveline, and appears to go back to the way it was before the July changes, except that in Saltash the 5A runs via St Stephens Road and Church Road in both directions instead of direct via Callington Road. I wonder how long this version will last!

  3. Visa seems to indicate changes to Stagecoach services 1,101 and 200 from end November? Any ideas? I believe the 1 may well be diverted from mutley via north rd east to city centre to provide link to rail station from tavistock and outlying areas of Plymouth following withdrawal of X1 in September?

  4. I would query your maps for the 77 and 77A:
    (a) You have both of them using the A38 Dobwalls by-pass rather than going through the village - surely not.
    (b) the road between Middle Taphouse and Trago you have shown for the 77A would not be passable with a bus - there is a low bridge under the railway with a headroom of only 8 feet or so.

    1. The road in (b) has had 'Road closed' signs in place at both ends for ages. I suspect the route uses the parallel road a little further west which was used for westbound traffic when the A39 near Trago was being rebuilt earlier this year.

  5. The Torbay Community Development Trust route change is a temporary change as Fleet Walk in Torquay is being closed for 8-12 weeks. I suspect Stagecoach will do the same in the near future for all their Torquay routes that go to the Strand.

    1. Yes, the remainder of the street up to Post Office Roundabout is to be redone to the same standard as the rest. Diversions will be in place for routes 12, 22, 31, 32 and 34. I imagine Torbay Buses 64 will simply start/terminate at Torquay Harbour.
