National Express / Megabus changes in North Devon from May 1st which don't show on N&Ps. The 10 year contract for a package of National Express services including 502 and 338 from North Devon has been won by Edwards Coaches of Pontypridd with a new Depot at Avonmouth licensed for 52 vehicles. The losers South Gloucestershire Bus and Coach (Filton) have gone in with Megabus to launch a new set of competative routes which are:
• M6a Barnstaple-Tiverton-Taunton- Bridgwater- Bristol-Heathrow Airport- London Victoria
• M38 Barnstaple- Tiverton- Taunton- Bridgwater- Bristol- Gloucester-Birmingham- Leicester- Loughborough University – Nottingham Trent University- Nottingham City Centre
• M25 Cardiff- Bristol- Heathrow Airport - Gatwick Airport
• M18 Bath- Corsham- Chippenham- Heathrow Airport- London Victoria
• M14 Gloucester- Cheltenham- Cirencester- Swindon- Heathrow Airport - London Victoria
Interestingly they use the Falcon stops off the M5 at Taunton and Bridgwater rather than the town centres.
