Yesterday finally saw the first of the MAN EcoCity Gas Buses enter Plymouth Citybus service with 703 out and about during the day. 705 was briefly out as well but had a technical issue. It was later observed back out on test so hopefully will be out and about shortly.

Finally for now, my only sighting of these buses so far was 705 sitting at the front of the workshops a damp evening last week
Nice use of black does make these buses look even smarter.

I agree the black makes them look much smarter, Perhaps that should be tried on the other 'Flash' colours - although I am not sure how it would be best applied to a double-decker.
ReplyDeleteBranding these vehicles as EcoFlash would have been a brilliant idea! A play on the typical light greens, blues and yellows to make the environmental aspect stand out! Quite the missed opportunity in my opinion!

ReplyDeleteWent passed Milehouse earlier today and all the Gas Busses are parked up in a line at the back of the yard.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say "all" the Gas Buses, presumably you mean "some" of the Gas Buses.
DeleteThere are still some in Anglian Bus livery which are in the Workshops undergoing preparation for repainting.
I noticed one in swoop livery with a WX62 registration - are they all being given local registrations? That's something Citybus hasn't done with its ex-London or Brighton buses.
