Less than a month to go…

Still looking to the near future we get a sneak preview of the first batch for new buses for Kernow thanks to their facebook page…

As usual the comments on the Facebook page are “interesting” to say the least. It always amazes me how just uninformed some people are, and how sure those people are, that they know what they are talking about.

Some useful things we do learn though are that the The first 10 are for the U1/2/3 and will go into service on 4 November in this stunning blue livery. The next 20 are for the 14/18 and are due around New Year and will be red.

  1. Good To see New Vehicles in Kernow the Livery is very Good , Look forward to Seeing the New 14/18 Deckers in Early 2017 , Not meant as a criticism but just a pity that the Current Nine Enviro 400s could not be Retained to be Used on a couple of Routes apparently they are heading towards Buses of Somerset to Replace Older Deckers in Taunton ,Good to see the Stagecoach South West New MMCs in Exeter last week Purchased to Replace the 04 Plate Tridents on the 1 1A Service , Changes happening in Torbay in Next Month with Optare Solos replacing Double Deckers on Torquay Local Routes, the switch will allow Some 04 Tridents to be Cascaded to Stagecoach South to Replace some Non DDA vehicles , Some Darts are also Expected to Go from Torbay as the The Network is Modified.

  2. The 9 12 plate E400s aren't going to Somerset and never were. They are going to WoE. The three 08 plate E400s are having wi fi fitted and being repainted for the U1/2/3.
The first of the MMCs has already arrived in Camborne.

  3. A neat touch from First to give them local registrations. A pleasant surprise and nice attention to detail. I'd assumed that the Citaros got Cornish registrations due to the Council's ownership but perhaps not. Makes a change from everything having generic Scottish and Yorkshire plates.

    1. FSW did specifically ask ADL to register them locally, like you say, a nice touch. Go Ahead usually do the same with their new stock for Plymouth and South Coast fleets.

  5. Looks lovely, cracking branding. That combined with a strong identity and local registrations, it's pleasing to see such an investment into Cornwall.
