Windswept and Interesting

You may have noticed that its been a bit windy recently with Wednesday in particular seeing a fair bit of disruption due to falling trees  etc.

The biggest issue though was the complete closure of Royal Parade for the afternoon:

Royal Parade has now been closed on a temporary basis to traffic as a safety precaution following the damage to the Big Screen earlier this afternoon. Bus companies are currently making arrangements for alternative locations to drop off and pick up passengers who would normally use the bus stops along Royal Parade.

As there are a number of companies involved, we are asking the public to keep an eye on the companies’ social media feeds for more information. We anticipate that the wind will die down later this evening and we hope to remove parts of the structure which are hanging off if the wind dies out as expected. Conditions permitting, scaffolding will go up tomorrow for a more detailed assessment to be carried out.
We aim to let people know when the road will reopen as soon as we can.

We appreciate that this causes inconvenience and delays for people trying to get home after work but the safety of people walking, cycling and driving along this busy road has to be our top priority.

Anyone know which vehicle? And given the regular working now of the 12, is it going to be branded PCB or GCB?

    1. Jacketts have two routes in Plymouth: the 13 and the summer Sundays 25. Be interesting to see if they retain them when they next come up for grabs -- does anyone know when this will be?

  5. 108 now out of the where in PCB logo.
One Red Flash E400 now in sheds having had some of the branding stripped. I assume this is going into standard swoop livery seeing as how the frequency was reduced to 10minuted again

    1. Just wondering if this is a compliment but that "predictive text" has mucked up "powerful" and produced "proofful". Or maybe it is meant to say "professional".

    2. well we could only prove photos that these buses are being repainted when they are out in a new livery, or someone in milehouse says that they are being its under repaint. but as i know the london mini darts are staying they should end up getting repainted, and the brighton ones was down as being on loan when they first arrived and now i think they are staying as they are off the brighton fleet list now, but all i will say mainly is that you will have to wait and see what happens.

  9. Need more double decks on the green Flash, every time i get on one after work at about 3.50pm its standing room only & there is no way you can safely squeeze 36 people standing on a E20D

  11. Walked passed the depot today and noticed 3 buses with trainer livery on the front. Too far away to see which they are but assuming 416 was one and that the other two are 413 and one other. I did see 418 on training a few weeks ago. Can anyone confirm which they were?

  12. Graham, Citycoach 318 is back in service, saw it out with 317 on Friday. There is also a third bus labelled up as trainer, assuming the other two are 413 and 416.
