First Kernow - Webbers Coaches

First Kernow completes purchase of Webbers Coaches’ assets and contracts
First Kernow, part of First Bus, the UK's leading bus operator, has announced the purchase of various assets and contracts from Webbers Coaches, a small operation in Cornwall.
The transaction, which was completed on 5 January, includes the lease of the existing depot in Bodmin, a number of school contracts operated on behalf of Cornwall Council, four of the vehicles used by the business and the transfer by TUPE of seven employees.
Commenting, Alex Carter, Managing Director for First South West, said: “This transaction represents an excellent opportunity to strengthen and grow our business in the South West. Our new colleagues are already fitting in well to our First Kernow operation.”

In Other News

A COACH driver appeared before magistrates in Bodmin today charged with causing the death of two women after a crash near Looe. He is charged with causing the death of Margaret Luxton and Carol Muldoon by driving an Iveco coach dangerously on the A387 at Leyand, Looe, on May 13, 2014.
