Life after Plymouth D107LTA

Thanks again to Michael Wadman for another of those wonderful little breadvans that plied the streets of Plymouth for far too long!

  • fbb wonders why operators spend much find gold on swirly trendy web sites and then don't bother to update them. Rather than contracting out, managers or their minions could learn very simple HTML code and update their site themselves Public Transport Experience
  • Will other councils wiggle out of their bureaucratic worm-holes and find the same in their areas? Will Fearnley's First win back the dregs of their erstwhile network come June? Public Transport Experience
  • The new Bristol Greyhound as opposed to the old has registered service X7 from Bristol to Clevedon, Somerset, a journey of about 15 miles, yet to run every *six* minutes. Ambitious or just one of those infamous Notices & Proceedings typos? Omnibuses
  • Weekly 62/13 Plate Update New Paint 62/13
  • Jutland was particularly interesting for it's many small operator's and individual liveries, and I imagine this colourful localised world is now largely a thing of the past Busworld Photography

    1. To be annoyingly pedantic, "breadvans" usually referred to the very basic 12 seater van conversions first flaunted by Harry Blunder (whoops, Blundred) n Devon. I think your Plymothian Dodge Reeve Burgess was BUILT as a bus. A few weeks ago, I may have sent you a picture of fleet number 3 from the same batch in service in Plymouth?

      1. well yes you are right, but then these 'buses' reminded me much more of breadvans as I remember them than the Transits ever did. The 'breadvan' conversions Mercedes L608Ds that Western National used were smaller and had a lot less room in them but were a lot more comfortable as they had some sort of suspension system, something that the Dodges never seemed to have! You did indeed send number 3 - I think I have it ready to post somewhere...

I found D143 LTA on you tube in a van banger race in arlington in may 2012! It looked pretty straight to start with.... by the end it was nothing but a chassis! We thought it was scrapped! if anyone sees a ex plymouth dodge anywhere in uk please contact PCTPG!
