Barbican congestion

Plymouth Citybus 203 X203CDV 22 February 2011 The road gas main replacement works on the Barbican are causing major traffic congestion in the the area and this has affected the Citybus:
Due to the closure of Vauxhall Street by Wales & West, the service 25 has been diverted as shown on the map below. (see the link below)
Due to the extended route for the diversion, the service 25 will not service Exeter Street Viaduct, Charles Street, Mayflower Street, and Western Approach.
The diversion will be in place until the completion of the works, which is expected to take several weeks.
We apologise for the inconvenience these works will cause our customers. We ourselves have been caught out by the works starting a week earlier than planned.

  • In my eyes, Derbyshire County Council's public transport department can do little wrong. Sure, they had a wobble a couple of years ago when they considered discontinuing their UK-leading transport timetable books, but that was resultant from 'pressure upstairs' forcing financial savings. • I don’t know whether you recall the preparation for 1st January 2000. I don’t mean the haircut, the clothes, the comestibles, the booze, the fireworks, the partying. I refer, instead, to the business continuity planning surrounding Y2K Omnibuses
