Tavy Timetable Changes Next Month

New timetables for Tavistock and Saltash in March

Sorry for the lack of updates over the weekend, but feeling rough with 'man flue' or something equally nasty so apart from some uploading of photos I have not done much at all over the past 48 hours or so. Starting to feel a bit better now so still hope to get out and about on my two days off work this week.

My last post was on the timetable changes confirmed for the Ugobus 7,11, 15, and 17 in two weeks time. Today we get a hint of further timetable changes due in March:

PH0004983/32 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Variation Accepted: Operating between TAVISTOCK Bus Station and PLYMOUTH Bus Station given service number 83/185/185S/83A/83D/84/84A/85/86 effective from 14-Mar-2010. To amend Timetable.

PH0004983/335 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Variation Accepted: Operating between Plymouth Royal Parade and Saltash given service number 1/1A effective from 14-Mar-2010. To amend Route and Timetable.

Of course it is too early to speculate as to what these changes will be. We do know that First are to receive several more Dennis Tridents from London shortly and that their use would be revealed later. This does imply that they are planned to operate on a specific route and the Tavistock services would be ideal candidates. It is not uncommon to see double deckers, often Tridents on the route with the Tavylinx Volvos to be seen elsewhere.

Of course I could be barking up the wrong tree here, but fingers crossed anyway.

  1. A single double decker from Plymouth depot operates on the 83 each day, as it is needed in the mornings and afternoons to take all the lovely well-behaved children to Tavistock School and then back to Woolwell, Southway etc..

During the day, the bus used to then go off on other routes around Plymouth, but for a while now, it seems to stay on the service all day.

  2. I hope they are going to keep the 15 minute frequency and at least once hour evenings/sundays ???
