A very busy weekend...

I am trying to give a bit more advanced warning of events which may be of interest to visitors to this site, so they get more support. Today I can bring you details of events coming up which look very interesting - but sadly conflict as they are both the same weekend:

20 - 21 September 2008

Kingsbridge Running Day

Kingsbridge Running Day

We are delighted to invite you to this first event organised by WHOTT in the South Hams.  We are organising this vintage bus running day on the day before WHOTT’s annual rally at Westpoint in order to give enthusiasts and bus owners from further afield a full weekend of bus related nostalgia.  With the exception of one former Royal Blue coach which in later life operated for Tally Ho! in Kingsbridge, vehicles in use will be limited to those with a width not exceeding 7’6” (apart from mirrors).  This is necessary because of the width of many of the roads in the area over which we are planning to operate.  However owners of other visiting vehicles are welcome to come to Kingsbridge and we expect to be able to organise additional parking by arrangement – please contact the organisers below if you wish to avail yourself of this. WHOTT Rally

We are delighted to invite you to this event which is being held for the sixth year at the superb site of the annual Devon County Show.  The location is ideal as it adjoins the A3052 Exeter to Sidmouth road and is only a short distance from Junction 30 of the M5 motorway.  The trunk A30 and A38 roads converge nearby and a frequent Stagecoach bus service from Exeter serves the site. On site there is plenty of car parking space adjoining the rally and a cafĂ©, refreshments and toilet facilities will be available.  Rally visitors will be able to ride on heritage buses and coaches on the extensive internal roadway or take a trip to Exeter on a scheduled service using vintage buses LINK

Both of these are well worth supporting but I think I have to go with the two bus events myself - shame they clash!

More details on these events as I get them!
