New Bridge Saltash Road Plymouth

Today was an important day in Plymouth. Well maybe that was a slight exaggeration but it was the day that the pedestrian link by Plymouth Railway Station was finally opened to pedestrians. It was replaced last Sunday after having been demolished by a 'cherry picker' on the back of a transporter two years ago. (19th July 2006 to be exact) It was one of those news stories which seem to defy all belief. The bridge was knocked down in the rush hour on one of the main routes into Plymouth - and no one was hurt! More details from the original post here

Thanks to Darren Williams for sending me a couple of photos of the new bridge in situ.

You are of course right. Thanks for pointing it out - I always thought it was still Alma Road at this point. Only lived in Plymouth for almost 40 years!!
