Transmoor Link a new chapter starts

This weekend has seen the start of the new timetables for Summer 2006. One of the highlights has been Stagecoach Devon taking on the wonderful 82 TransmoorLink Plymouth - Exeter service. Buses used included two Olympians R902/3JDV and some low floor Trident double deckers. It seems to have been a successful start with the buses performing well.
Phil Pullen emailed me with his experience:

I thought you may be interested to hear of my experiences on today's Transmoor bus. My Swarthmore walking group used the Stagecoach service to Steps Bridge and were complimentary about the smartly turned-out newish double deckers used. We also made use of the Stagecoach Explorer ticket for over 60s so that our day out cost us only £3.50. (On Saturday a trip to Loddiswell cost us £4.40 as we had to pay full fare).
Coming home this afternoon however the bus was suffering from several cracks to the top nearside window due to low branches and then had the misfortune to scrape a bridge approaching Mortonhampstead causing damage to the near-side. It would be unfortunate if these accidents caused Stagecoach to turn to older vehicles in future. Anyway, full marks to Stagecoach so far.
