This route partially replaces the 44A between Holly Park and St Budeaux. The new service will comprise four journeys a day in each direction, Monday to Friday. The service will be more limited than what was provided before and will be run on a commercial basis. Plymouth Citybus will be reviewing its use after six months to ensure that it is financially viable.	T002267

PH0000135.314	59	Plymouth City Centre, Royal Parade	Roborough	30-Jan-2023	The 59 service is a route that Plymouth Citybus currently operates under contract to Devon County Council.  The new extension will begin on Monday 30 January and partially replaces the previous route 19. It will operate four journeys a day in each direction, reinstating links for Merafield residents to both the Ridgeway and the city centre, as well as expanding travel to Sparkwell, Shaugh Prior and Bickleigh. The timetable also has a peak time journey to and from the city centre, which will hopefully help generate commuter numbers on this route.	T002270

Devon & Cornwall Transit: 30 January 2023

Two of the local bus routes that were withdrawn due to low customer usage and extreme pressures on Plymouth City Council’s finances will be partially reintroduced at the end of the month.

Suspended? possibly..

A comment left on an earlier post that the Dartmoor Explorer was cancelled has been queried – but they are right, or at least it looks like it…

There were 6 service alterations published this week that show the Dartmoor Explorer, Discover Exeter and at least parts of the Atlantic Coaster are suspended until further notice due to covid. That on its own isn't surprising.

What is surprising is just how difficult it is to get confirmation on this as I have not seen it mentioned anywhere by First Kernow on their web site or the facebook pages.

Traveline are still showing the timetables as current but the Adventures By Bus web site is showing these services as Coming Soon!

The Falmouth Coaster does still appear to be running though

It certainly makes sense to suspend these services at the moment, and they will be back before too long. With covid restrictions being wound down over coming weeks, hopefully staffing levels will increase again. The company clearly has plans for the new season….

• Taw and Torridge take over the 31 Woolacombe service from Filers Travel.
• Plymouth Citybus new registration for the 54 Bovisand. Map and TTs on the page
• Travel Cornwall timetable change for the 497/498 Truro. maps and TTs available on the page.
• AB Coaches have a few changes to their school services from 10th May. As with a couple of weeks ago these services have not altered since April 2002 if the registrations are anything to be believed. These all appear to be closed school services so no timetables / maps available

Devon & Cornwall Transit 2021 Week 4

The usual weekly look back on what has been published on the Registered Local Bus Services site over the last week. As most weeks at the moment much of this has already happened due to very short notice changes due to COVID19. There are also quite a few changes outstanding that have not appeared in the daily download yet – and I am sure quite a few timetable changes that are being missed as they are not being published.

This week these are all for Plymouth Citybus and are Covid 19 restrictions – some service frequencies in being reduced – and quite a few school services being suspended – quite a few in Cornwall.
