Catching up on last weeks notices for service changes, although there is not a lot to report. In fact lastr week has just seen one new notice – for Dartline’s 347 Crediton town service.
Although this new timetable is already in operation I have yet to actually find an updated timetable anywhere.
| Licence | Route | Start Point | End Point | Effective | Notes | Operator |
| PH0005305.054 | 347 | Cediton, Green | Cheriton Fitzpaine ( White Cross/Shelter) | 10-Oct-2025 | Timetable variation (V4)Addition of a Friday service to
the timetable. No new timetable published anywhere so far… |

I have used this quieter period to catch up on things so the Planned Service Changes page is now finally back up to date including all the changes I am aware of from September onwards.
I have also reworked the previous service changes which are now all on one page as a linked spreadsheet with all service changes form 1st January 2024 onwards
You should be able to filter the route numbers etc to find what you want. Hopefully this is easier to keep up to date than the older pages. Just click on the licence numbers as usual to get full details.

Stagecoach have taken over scholl contracts from Tamar Coaches in Plymouth
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that is to allow Tamar Coaches to take up the MoveSmart contract?
DeleteOld news
DeleteWas all put for tender as was callywith/st austell college etc and SC came out on top with
DeleteThink stagecoach just putting cheap bids in to get the work
DeleteCheap bids or not - has nothing to do with it - you can quite clearly see Stagecoach coming back from their slump to start to compete with the likes of GoAhead and First in the South West.
DeleteIt’s quite interesting the Stagecoach strategy. Although the wins for the colleges seemed like a grab for work, it was very well thought out. They now have lots of buses in the middle of the Go ahead patch. A stones through from their operating centres. Most of these buses have a peak only requirement, so when the opportunity arises to bid on other work, or if they fancy a commercial venture the vehicles are already there and paid for, so for the sake of a tank of fuel and the drivers hours they are already covered. Meaning they could start doing more very quickly. So whilst Go Ahead look to make First feel very uncomfortable in West Cornwall, they are leaving their current patch which is still in need of attention open to new opportunities and new operators.
ReplyDeleteYes - this is exactly it - and it's being very well thought of - granted - some of the situation has been less than perfect but the new management team are clearly looking at the long road here - and not just a quick kick down the road...
DeleteSpot on. And Stagecoach should be leaping on this and giving Citybus a run for their money in Plymouth. The city is crying out for a better and more reliable network, and the competition wouldn’t hurt to remind Citybus where they started!
DeleteI think some people have short memories. It was only a couple weeks ago Stagecoach were getting no end of complaints about their services in Plymouth, especially the 2 but others included also? Thankfully though that all seems to have settled down nowadays
DeleteYes all settling down, not 100% there but nearly. Alot of journeys being prioritised for schools etc
DeleteIt's still not great with Stagecoach, no 38 bus services between Exeter and Plymouth so far today. This happened twice last week too! I believe this comes out of Plymouth depot? Very unreliable for someone like me who has to rely on public transport to get to work. Had to get the train today. It is unacceptable!
DeleteFranchising will happen soon so it won't matter
ReplyDeleteHopefully not as it really will be the death of rural bus services
DeleteOnly if the local authority has the money which it won’t.
