Filers Travel cease trading

sad news today

North Devon coach tour operator Filers Travel has shocked the region today (Monday, September 1) by announcing it has gone into administration.

The coach operator, which has been run by the Filer family for 56 years, confirmed rumours that have been circulating since the weekend by posting on its website this afternoon: “Filers Travel Limited has entered administration and has ceased trading.

“We regret to inform you that all bookings have been cancelled.”

The business is well-known to most people in North Devon and operated day trips to attractions and events, coach excursion holidays, coach hire and provided school bus services for Ilfracombe Academy among others.

  5. To be fair, these (7042-7050) are the last of the CURRENT order for fifty Electroliners. A further nine were ordered subsequently after additional funding was made available by the Government, these are a separate order and are not expected until next year.

(What's all this doing in the Filers thread anyway?).

  6. We need a tap on tap off for the South West like they've got in North Wales brilliant system. Use on all bus operators

    1. That is because very few services in North Wales are operated commercially, this gives Transport for Wales the ability to mandate tap-on-tap-off across all bus services.

It could happen in Plymouth/Devon/Cornwall/TheWiderSouthWest as part of an Enhanced Partnership, or if franchising was adopted in the region.
