The 50/51 is now seeing these a bit more along with the Enviro City’s. I will miss the Scanias but happy to see the back of the London E400’s!

Driver here… very happy to see the back of the 06 E400s… but give me a Scania over one of these on any day of the week and I’d be happy!
ReplyDeleteSame too , rather drive an smelly old Scania any day !
DeleteThe BZL's aren't as good as the E400's, they also don't have as many seats
ReplyDeletethese aren't BZLs, they're Wright Electroliners.
DeleteSignificantly more leg room, two wheelchair bays with fewer folding seats, and the two behind the driver also absent. All in all, I think 20 less than an E400
DeleteHad a Spark on the 86 to Newquay the other morning that surprised me.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what is happening with the ex Metrobus Scanias currently parked up at Milehouse?
ReplyDeleteNow, most likely nothing. Originally they were going to be on schools while the second batch of electrics came but as most are here now that’s unlikely.
DeleteNot a lot it would seem ! Mind you , with next batch of electric buses out in servce , may explain why they out in plain red. Probably more worth the time to get the new electrics out on the road than the metro bus blue Scania .
Deleteparked pending a decision. They are not in great condition and need a lot of work to make them service ready. Wheter they will see the road i am not certain.
DeleteI believe two out of the possible (8?) were any good - so it's a real shame because i used to love the OmiCities with GSC many years ago.
DeleteBZL Wright Electroliner 44 & 45 were out on the road in full livery today
ReplyDeleteThey are not BZLs but thanks for the update
Deleteit was 45,46 - they've all arrived now just waiting on livery etc
Delete7032 has a rear end advert for Real Homes
ReplyDeleteIs there any reason why 7043 has not come out into the road yet?
ReplyDeletesimply, it hasn't arrived yet. 7050, has entered service with EV75 GSW.
DeleteThese are semi integral buses using the Volvo BZL chassis with bodywork done by Wrightbus, they don't have as many seats as previous double-deckers, seats aren't as comfy either
ReplyDeleteWrightbus have built these exclusively with their own chasis, look up the chassis numbers and you'll see they are not Volvos. If they were, the name of the bus also wouldn't be a Wrightbus Streetdeck, they would be Volvo B5/B9 etc etc like a few of the London buses from 2015/16.
Deletepretty sure they are nothing to do with Volvo, being a totally Wright built product. Personally I find the seats really comfortable but I guess thats just personal opinion.
ReplyDeleteSomeone said that 7043 had not arrived yet, do we know why? Weren't the all supposed to have been here by the end of September?
