  2. It is correct - but only one early morning journey at weekends! No idea why though...

    1. It’s because th 20B gets extended to sherford on the weekend, so citybus change it into a 5 at Sherford which then turns into a 70A at milehouse.

  3. 26 October is a significant date, being exactly 39 years since the implementation of bus de-regulation in 1986!

  4. I think it is a part replacement for what was the morning trip on the 85 same as 20B. It certainly does carry a lot even that time on a Sunday morning !

  5. Peak time travel Plymouth City Centre to Derriford. Queues at bus stops, buses passing full and not stopping. Stagecoach mainly providing only single deck vehicles, significantly reducing capacity. Simply not good enough Stagecoach.

    1. this is what happens when they tender for routes - it wont be too long before buses are cascaded throughout devon though - E300s are also on pickup duty now, so hopefully the Solos wont be on the routes much longer

  6. With erratic Stagecoach services including cancellations due to recent bus & drivers shortages as reported by the media, it seems Citybus sees an opportunity to pick up extra passengers on the Derriford Hospital George corridor

    1. It could be the case to a point but let's not forget this would have had to be register a while ago before the September issues stagecoach faced

  7. Stagecoach have got a Double decker Megabus coach on service 2 today. Wouldn't it have been better on the 80 or 38 service?

    3. I did wonder if the tracker was correct! thanks for confirming

    4. The Falcons use different ticket machines to the ones on the buses. Would be an old machine that hasnt been setup properly.

    6. stagecoach management would off check they had the resources available before bidding for the contracts about 6 months ago, or they are not up to doing the job?

    7. I thought this topic was over. But in response to you, they did but the transfers didnt happen quick enough and before the date needed.

The bid for the work would have been based on allocation of resources DUE in the area at the time - so, this would have included the cascades from Scotland, and the new electrics arriving in Devon for Torquay for extra cascades across the county and into Cornwall.

Sometimes, things don't go to plan (look at GSW when they took Cornwall) and delays in either cascades or newly built buses do happen.

Things are improving slowly, but they are getting better.

    9. Got on the 80 from Plymouth to Paignton got to Sugar Mill stop where the drivers change over. Driver got off no driver turned up for 20 minutes then when he did we all had to get off and wait for the next one over an hours wait mother's with there children in buggys 7 30 at night. Apparently they hadn't got any drivers. Unacceptable

    10. Surely the drivers shouldn't leave a bus full of passengers unattended

  8. Does the 42B go into woolwell down to church park road like the 42C did

    1. No, it will continue on Tavistock Road to Roborough roundabout and then return. A few journeys will be serving Belliver Indústrial Estate.

    2. The 42C will continue to Woolwell Church Park as it currently does. The B will, for now, go to Roborough Roundabout and then back. Eventually it will extend in to Belliver Industrial Estate.

  11. Yes, a 65 plate, the bus destroyed by fire today was 528

  12. Sadly, it was 528. Luckily, the driver escaped unhurt, but it must have been a frightening experience.
