    1. I have no info on Dartmoor Explorer, but there are 2 new routes across Dartmoor from 15 April, 171 & 172 Mon-Sat run by Country Bus. Newton Abbot 09:05 (171) & 13:30 (172) - Moretonhampstead (171) or Ashburton (172) - Princetown - Tavistock. Departures from Tavistock at 10:55 (172) & 15:05 (171). Timetables are at least on Traveline SW.

  2. I doubt Dartmoor Explorer will run this year, it has not been successful. However Country Bus has registered a couple of cross-Dartmoor services 171 and 172 between Newton Abbot and Tavistock, these are due to start in April.

  3. And the Dartmoor Explorer has quietly been removed from First's Adventures by Bus website (which often contains out of date information!) with no explanation, presumably in the hope nobody remembers the route and realises it's gone.

    1. it wont be the first time that the site has been well out of dater. Shame really as it should be really useful way of promoting these services.

  5. PCB's 08 plate E200's are on their last legs, I was on one today & the floor was buckling as passengers walked over it

    1. Yikes :( they sound so nice as well, as weird as it is, they're the nicest sounding buses out there

    2. not being funny, but i don't think many care about the sound of an engine vs the safety/quality of buses and repairs. For a bus that is nearly 16 years old, 18 years old if you include 134 - it's not surprising that they're now starting to really show their wear and tear - however if people see stuff like this, please report it to the driver, it will need looking at.

    3. Yeah I totally agree with you there, not that we have any spares to replace them with!

    4. Busguy, I’ve noticed Citybus don’t seem to keep their buses in good condition inside or out.
Compare to stagecoach’s old solos or 19003/6 which still look smart and tidy inside, Citybus interiors on their older stuff looks totally unloved. I assume stagecoach have spent money on interior refurbishments at some point on their oldest stuff to still look so smart inside

    5. we all notice that... and i totally agree, Stagecoach do spend a lot more money on looking after their buses. There was once a time, they didn't do that though, so obviously learnt from their past mistakes - like GSW are now... but maybe not learning... :D

    6. Yes totally agree. Whilst on our route Stagecoach generally use newer buses when they do roll out an old one it still looks good inside unlike Citybus whose buses often look horrendous inside and out. First Kernow buses are also generally look much better than GSW too

  6. Stagecoach have got many of these,
