PH1020951.354 95 Exmouth Imperial Road Sandy Bay, Devon Cliffs 24-Mar-2024 Vary timetable. Seasonal start

Its too early to judge the extant of changes yet, but I have noticed that many current timetables for Cornwall services now have an end date of 30th March so I expect to see a fair number of these coming through over the coming weeks. Cornwall likes to keep theirs to a few sets dates where possible whereas Devon has no such system in place.

As usual you can click through to the route pages above. The Devon services have the new timetables in place, The Cornish ones have yet to be published on Traveline.

  1. Doesn't really make sense to merge Dartmouth's P&R into the Totnes - Dartmouth route, as you're still going to need another bus and driver to run the interval services.

  2. Once the bus comes into Dartmouth from Exeter it will do a short run to the park and ride and back and then go back to Exeter

  3. Bustimes.org seems to have thrown a wobbly at the moment with PCB timetables - all the current timetables have disappeared and it only shows services from the 14th April 2024. That shows a couple of interesting things for me as someone that lives in Eggbuckland in that the 60 has gone and the 61 will be out and back from Royal Parade terminating Transit Way via Milehouse, Pennnycross and Honicknowle... no longer doing the full loop through Crownhill to Eggbuckland and town. Replacing the 60/61 in Eggbuckland, the old favourite number 28 makes a return, now sadly reduced to an hourly service which continues to Crownhill, round the William Prance Road loop thing to Derriford Hospital, up the back of Marjons and terminating at The George P&R.

Whoever at CityBus dreams this stuff up seems to have been sniffing the Tippex again! I'm not knowledgeable enough on most of the other PCB routes to know what else might have changed, but no doubt they'll have had a twiddle with a few things just make things worse s usual!

    1. As alarming as it is to see that on BusTimes, I wouldn't hold it as gospel. There's been a lot of strange happening there for a while now, however, it definitely seems to have thrown some routes into confusion. 51 seems to no longer be the loop, and its all numbered 50 from 14th? 27 has also got some changes. 28 is on the list but the change to the 61 doesn't make sense as a large part of the route is then missing. Not sure why they'd remove a massive part of a route like that? Additionally why put the 28 to the George when they've just taken the 27 off it? Strange insights, but we'll wait and see. There may be something new from stagecoach, as apparently the 2A is no longer in existence in Saltash....

    2. Looking at these on BusTimes - it appears.....
      - 28 will only link with the 60/61 in morning and evening journeys at Crownhill, heading straight through as it currently does. Daytime services in Eggbuckland move to a standard hourly service which, in my opinion, is perfectly reasonable - there is very little use on that particular corridor outside of the peak travel times. The extension to Derriford means that all of the Eggbuckland services now go to Derriford, Seaton service is restored (there was talk originally that this would be the 34!), and it makes the service an hour our, hour back, meaning no huge layover anywhere. It also provides an additional link from Crownhill to Derriford to replace what appears to be the 50's absence.

50 appears to be withdrawn from Crownhill loop outbound, a move that will most certainly not go down well at all. All 60/61s now terminating at Transit Way during the day and this move means there are now no services to Crownhill Village/Loop during the day from St Budeaux, West Park or Honicknowle, but the 51 remains serving the Village and Loop...

71 times have been changes over peak times to add in a little bit of time to prevent lateness, but to do this they have just moved the service frequency from every 60 minutes to every 65 minutes or so instead.

    3. Bustimes.org is not an official website, be wary of extrapolating what may be incomplete and/or inaccurate information from a non-official source to make assumptions.

    4. @busguy the changes to the 2a are the 1s implemented when they took evenings out tfc/pcb just slow in replacing it

    5. May well be, however it does state that changes are expected according to TFC.

  4. Let's not forget 27 is a council tender route. So it not doing the George junction means it does Derriford hospital instead

    1. The 27 was already serving Derriford so not sure what the changes are there yet. As for the 50 not serving the Crownhill loop - although I am sure that some will be annoyed it will actually cheer up all the other passengers along the route! There is nothing more annoying in the evenings than standing at Derriford Hospital watching the bus on the tracker arriving at the loop and then taking 10 mins to get out the other side. Not unusual at peak times. I guess the full picture will emerge over the coming days!

  5. To be honest if taking the 50 out of going round and round Crownhill helps improve the rest of the route I'd say that's a small price to pay. Yes it'll be a pain for some bit would surely benefit much others instead
