The Week Ahead: Week 20

A bumper crop this coming week as lockdown is significantly relaxed for now at least. These are the timetables I have down as changing this week – from tomorrow onwards.

First South West Ltd

PH0004983.173 17 PENZANCE Bus Station/ ST IVES St Ives, Malakoff Bus Station 16-May-2021 17 is a new route that replaces the A17 between St Ives and Penzance. The timetable has been amended and some buses are running earlier or later than present. Between Penzance and Pendeen, buses will be renumbered 18 and between Penzance and Madron, buses will be renumbered 19. As today, most buses from St Ives will continue through Penzance town centre – please advise your driver if you’d like to stay on the bus.
PH0004983.598 18 19 Penzance Bus Station Pendeen, Boscaswell Estate 16-May-2021 18 is a new service  that replaces the A17 between Pendeen and Penzance. The timetable has been amended and some buses are running earlier or later than present. Also, on Sundays, buses will run hourly and continue to serve Madron. As today, most buses from Pendeen will continue through Penzance towards Tesco and Long Rock – please advise your driver if you’d like to stay on the bus.
19  A new service that replaces the A17 between Madron and Penzance. The timetable has been amended and some buses are running earlier or later than present. On Sundays, the 18 will run hourly and also serve Madron. As today, most buses from Madron will continue through Penzance towards Tesco and Long Rock – please advise your driver if you’d like to stay on the bus.
PH0004983.513 86 Newquay, Crantock, Cubert Truro 16-May-2021 86  A new service that runs parallel to the current 87 in part. The route runs from Truro via the Royal Cornwall Hospital (Trelawny Wing) at Treliske, Threemilestone then direct to Perranporth. From Perranporth, the 86 will then serve Perran Sands Holiday Park, Goonhavern, Holywell Bay and Crantock towards Newquay, following the same route that the 87 serves in the evenings.
PH0004983.501 87 Newquay Manor Road Truro Bus Station 16-May-2021 87 has a revised timetable and buses run earlier or later than present. Buses on the 87 will serve Perran Sands Holiday Park when the 86 is not running On Sundays, the 86 will now serve Holywell Bay and Crantock during the daytime.

PH0004983.518 Atlantic Coaster Newquay Bus Station Padstow Old Station Car Park 16-May-2021 Atlantic Coaster is the new name for the A4 and A5 routes. It will run along the coast between St Ives, Hayle, St Agnes, Perranporth, Newquay, Watergate Bay, St Merryn and Padstow. The route remains the same except in Newquay, where buses for St Ives and Newquay will serve Treloggan Road and Newquay Zoo in both directions.

Service E1 was due to replace former service 101 from 29th March 2020 which was then postponed due to Covid so never actually ran. Service replaced this year by the new D1-D11 network
PH0004983.447 L 1 Redruth Railway station, Poldhu, Mullion, Helston The Lizard 16-May-2021 L1 will run more frequently between Helston and Lizard village. The route will change in Helston – buses will start from Coinagehall Street opposite The Blue Anchor and travel uphill to serve Tesco and Sainsbury’s before heading to Lizard. Towards Helston, buses run direct from Sainsbury’s to Coinagehall Street opposite The Blue Anchor via Meneage Road and Whitehill Terrace. The route will also change as it approaches Lizard – buses will serve Kuggar towards Lizard and you’re able to travel via Lizard to reach Helston. The new L3 will replace the L1 between Helston and Truro. Buses are timed to connect at Helston with the L3, L5 and U4.
PH0004983.589 L 3 Coinagehall St, Helston Truro College 16-May-2021 L3 is a new route that replaces the L1 between Helston and Truro. Buses start from Coinagehall Street opposite The Blue Anchor in Helston and travel uphill to serve Tesco before heading direct to Carnon Downs then Truro. From Truro, buses run direct from Carnon Downs to Helston Tesco, then run via Sainsbury’s, Meneage Road and Whitehill Terrace to Coinagehall Street opposite The Blue Anchor. Buses are timed to connect in Helston with the L1, L5 and U4.
PH0004983.610 L 5 Helston Sainsburys St Ives, Malakoff Bus Station 16-May-2021 L5 is a new route between Helston, Hayle and St Ives. It also runs via St Ives Holiday Village in the morning towards Helston and in the afternoon from Helston. Buses are timed to connect in Helston with the L1, L3 and U4.
PH0004983.170 Land's End Coaster PENZANCE Bus Station, GWAVAS, SHEFFIELD, ST BURYAN & PORTHCURNO LANDS END 16-May-2021 Land’s End Coaster is the new name for the previous A1, A2 and A3 routes. The route remains the same except that buses will not go into Botallack village and buses will stop on the main road instead.

PH0004983.187 U1 U3 FALMOUTH Moor TRURO Treliske Hospital/NEWQUAY Bus Station 16-May-2021 U1 & U2 have revised timetables, with buses running up to 5 minutes earlier or later than present.
U3 will not change but be aware that this service will only run until Friday 28 May when the university term ends.

PH0004983.171 U4 Falmouth Penzance 16-May-2021 U4 has a revised timetable, with buses running up to 5 minutes earlier or later than present during the day. In the early mornings and late evenings buses run to a new timetable with the first buses starting in Helston and the last buses finishing in Helston. On Sundays, buses will now run hourly.

PH0000135.086 25 City Centre, Barbican, West Hoe City Centre 16-May-2021 The Monday - Saturday evening service will commence. The Sunday daytime service will be increased to half hourly. The Open Top Bus will now be running on service 25 seven days a week and half-hourly on Sunday. A standard single deck bus will be used for the late journeys from Monday - Saturdays.

  1. Looking at the atlantic coaster timetable it not possible to do a return trip in 1 hit from padstow. But is from st ives. Thankfully nx put the 406 back on next month so can do it in 1 long day.
