Herbert gets a new coat

The former Brighton & Hove Scania’s are finally starting to go through the paint shop with 6013 being the first to emerge in the new ‘connections’ livery. Looking very smart too.

Thanks to Mark Bailey for the photo.

As much as I like B&H livery, I think I prefer her current state (although I prefer the swoop). I am sure there will be plenty of people who will disagree though!

Happy Easter Everyone!

  1. So much for PCB going completely ADL (Rolling eyes). This livery look awful bring back the swoop!

  2. Looking very smart. Talking of repaints (and repairs) 571 is back on the road. The livery does look a bit odd, as others have mentioned. It was on the 42 on Thursday (1st).

  3. I'm quite disappointed with Citybus approach to liveries to be quite honest. Even the special liveries look a bit dull. Bring back the days of the Flash liveries.

    1. The flash liveries were a mess. The only CityBus 2010 white/red and black band looked really smart and was probably my favourite. It was just a shame the fleet was in such a mess with Darts in various different versions of the livery.

    2. They could learn a lot from First SW on liveries. By far the best of the 3 main companies in Devon

  4. Post municipal ownership, the best livery was the Best Impressions. No idea why that was so sort lived.

    2. Agree with this entirely! Best impressions looked fresh and modern! Certainly a case with personal taste though, as plenty don’t/didn’t like it.

It seems now that they’ve just placed a rolling order for red paint and some white stickers and that’ll do!

  5. "Every journey taken care of" - doesn't look like much care is being taken with those very faded and worn seats. They could have re-trimmed them to go with the repaint.

  6. How did it cost too much? Admittedly there was the added cost above painting of vinyls, but I can’t imagine that being the real reason. It was much better than anything produced since including Flash, Spark and the array of other versions.

    1. I believe it was a licensing issue with a fee due to the designers for each bus painted.

    2. That’s not true. There are no licensing fees payable to Best Impressions when they produce a livery. This is just yet another fantasy promoted by the anti BI brigade

    1. what???? Plymouth Citybus have brought more new buses than just about anyone else over the last year. Most are for Cornwall but quite a few of these are for routes out of Plymouth. Neither First or Stagecoach have brought new buses recently. Very few operators have this last year.

    2. Most of Stagecoach Devon hasn't seen new buses since 2017. Especially in Exeter and around Newton Abbot.

  8. Both 6013 and 512 have lost their "Contactless/Free WiFi" points on the sides. 512 definitely had them at some point. Wonder why they're taking them off?
