Incoming Citybus!

A small batch of Alexander Dennis Enviro 200s have just arrived at Milehouse from East Yorkshire to join the Citybus fleet.
The batch are East Yorkshire 349-353 YX056HVF, YX56HVG, YX56HVH, YX56HVJ

At the moment no Plymouth fleetnumbers are known but I would guess at either 162-165 after the existing Enviros or they would fit in quite nicely as 129-132 in front of the original Plymouth 56 reg Enviros.
I will shortly be opening up the Go Ahead Group fleetlist I am working on which includes the full Plymouth Citybus fleet list. The Plymouth fleet is right up to date but I still have a few other fleets to add but it wont be long before I open it up…

  1. Could be replacements for the Scania single deckers

    1. They're only a year older than the Scanias. However I guess if Citybus are looking to have a ADL only fleet this would make sense. It would also allow all the Mercedes Benz's to be replaced by the 10 E200s from London in January

    2. The darts photographed are Euro 4 if I am not correct meanwhile the Scanias are Euro 3? That would also make sense as to their replacement.

    3. The Scanias can't be Euro 3 if they're newer than the incoming E200s. Euro IV was introduced in January 2005.

    4. The Scanias (N94UB) are a "4-series" bus, which contain Euro III engines. These were replaced by the N,K & F series later in 2006 when Euro IV became the standard

    5. The Scania's are Euro 3, that chassis was not produced as a Euro 4 variant to my knowledge. The scanias were registed in Jun 2006, that doesn't mean the chassis was built on that date though, this is why there are 06 plate Tridents that used run with Stagecoach London. Also just to correct you the Euro 4 emissions standards came into force in October 2005, not January.

  3. More second-hand vehicles! Is it me or is there less investment in new vehicles since Citybus was privatised?

    1. Its you!
The council had under invested in new buses for quite a while before privatisation. Between 2005-2011 there were only 15 Citaros and 14 Enviro 200s. From 2012 GA have purchased 10 Volvo Wrights, 38 ADL 400s, 16ADL 400 City and 13 ADL 200 (not including coaches) 77 more than twice as many. There has n=been no new buses by GA in 2018 and 2019 so far but there are more on order.

    2. Go ahead has invested millions in brand new buses, just look at the Spark, and former flash routes. Nothing wrong with second hand buses, they still get you from A to B, it just makes sense if there are spare buses in the group, to move them to where they are needed.

  4. and dont forget the council were happy to buy secondhand too - their last major purchase being the East Lancs Volvos - themselves replacing the previous second hand Volvo double deckers.

  5. Citybus large price increases coming next week. 40p on return and 30p day ticket. Weekly up by £1 and monthly £3.50. City to Derriford £4.50 Citybus £3.40 Stagecoach. Where I live £4 return to city with Citybus or £2.20 Stagecoach. Tough decision?
