Go Cornwall Gone North West

As has been well reported in the comments recently the Volvo B7RLE Wright buses with Plymouth Citybus are heading North to Manchester where they will be joining Go North West, for former First Manchester depot recently taken over by Go Ahead. The first two have already been sent to Manchester 101 WA12ACO seen here and 109 WA12ADV

Photos thanks to Derek Cuff and James Grose

I look forward to seeing them in the smart new Go North West livery.

By coincidence I have just this evening uploaded my latest Go Ahead Group fleet list – Go North West although these two are not on it yet! (they will be soon though)

  1. So if they're disappearing, wheres their replacements?

  3. rumour has it that there's a batch of 64 plate Enviro200s coming down from London to replace a batch of older buses

    1. if this is true, these will be the YY64 *** buses from Go-Ahead London which have central doors, meaning less seating. They look very similar to the YX09 buses with Citybus now.

  4. they will be converted to single door

  5. No, I have my sources.. I heard some 200 mmcs are coming down straight from factory free wifi comfibale seating with next stop announcements

    1. 200 MMCS thats quite alot, but then you can say with next stop announcements but the SPARK buses had them but never ended up using it anyway,
the list would be E400citys for 50/51 Yellows To 42s, E200s and E200minis from london and New MMC200s, but im sure there is not 200 coming to us, but lets see what does happen

      Delete
    2. Obviously they meant E200s lol. I'm fairly sure the E400 Citys are going on the 42. E200 MMCs for 11/11a. Just no idea on branding.

      Delete
  6. They are not saying there will be 200 buses - just that they will be Enviro 200 MMCs!

    ReplyDelete
  7. The Enviro400 Citys will be going on 42s. Unless theres more than 10 arriving in which case they may go to the 50. Meaning Yellows to 42. Could get quite confusing seeing Yellows on 42 however.

    ReplyDelete
  8. hI, It is enviro 200 source guy again, it was confirmed they will run on the 34 possibly and the 12,

    ReplyDelete
  9. Because PCB Are wanting all environment friendly buses, a bit like London so they are scrapping lots of old ones and getting new enviro's.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Of course it makes sense for them to get new buses if they're cheaper to run...
Saying they'll run on certain routes however, i don't think Citybus will have brought in buses for particular routes - however because of the newer buses for cornwall, i think the newer MMCs will be mostly for Cornwall.

  11. After many talks with Plymouth bus drivers, it is confirmed of the following will happen:
10 x Enviro 200 (2014 model from London) will be replacing the first batch of citaros for the services 35/35A/61/62.
10 x Enviro 200 MMC (New from factory) will be operating various routes around Plymouth.
10 x Enviro 400 City will be operating the 50/51.
The YellowFlash buses will go on to the 42s, excluding 537 which is going to either be swooped or put into a special livery. Most likely All Saints like 538
The second batch of citaros will be put onto the service 11. (Confirmed by Driver Mentor and Lead Driver)

    1. 10x Enviro 200 (2014) - there's only 15 Citaros in the fleet. 8 55 plate, 7 56 plate, so this would be interesting to see how the remaining Citaros would run on the 11/11a - this also seems a backwards move considering they were only running on that route just before the Wrights were.

Yellow Flash going to the 42s is only going to cause confusion in my opinion and i've also heard that all Flash branding is going, so wouldn't be surprised to see random Enviros places on that route ( as is the case now)

      Delete
    2. Surely if they're only replacing the first batch of Citaros then that's replacing 8 not 10? Meaning there would be enough buses to cover the 11

      Delete
    3. I have already seen 65 plate Enviros and 56 plate Citaros on the route. Not sure what's going on right now!

      Delete
    4. There are now 6 service busses in the first batch of citaros as 80 and 81 are driver trainers

      Delete
    5. in case anyone's wondering, it's the SE--- numbered Enviro's which are replacing the Citaros / Scanias - pictured here... https://www.flickr.com/photos/dartspryte2018/48114469008

What about the replacements for the Wrights? or is this the 400Citys?

      Delete
    7. The enviro 200s from London are the weights replacements as they are replacing the first batch of citaros which operate the 35/35a/61/62 as well as the second batch that operate that route which will go on the 11/11a. The enviro 400 citys are a replacement for the red flash which is a replacement for the yellow flash as these(yellow flash) will go on the 42s.

      Delete
    8. That still doesn't make sense as theres 16 buses being replaced by 10 Enviro 200s?

    9. Most busses are out of service at milehouse and will go out if needed and 6 of those busses will now not be anywhere. The plaxton presidents will go as well.

  17. interesting to see which buses are running which routes these days while the older buses start to depart.

    20/20A has featured the Scanias, 56, 08, 09, 65 Env 200s and the 05 plate Darts.
42s have featured the 06, 63, 65 plate Env 400s with the occasional run of a MAN or a Enviro 200
11s have had 56 plate Citaros, 08 and 65 plate Enviro 200s and the remainder of the Wright Eclipses
12s have also featured the Wrights and 56/08/09/65 plate Env 200s, as well as the occasional E400
34s have been mostly 06 plate Enviros however have been seeing the older Tridents running the route again recently.

There's recently been some issues with the Enviro City 400s, as Enviro400s and / or Tridents have come in to cover them.

Anyone else noticed any other changes to buses on routes?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Lately the 42s have seen at least 7 06 plate enviro 400s a day and the 34s have busses from school services in the morning operating the route. There was 373 on the 9 the other day as 158 was operating 40/41/44/44a for a while. The 35/35a/61/62 seems to have more 08 plate enviro 200s operating now as the citaros have been on 11s and 12s and PR3s. Also the PR3 seems to have single deckers operating now. The enviro 400 citys are having to catch up with a different trip as 4 came in at the same time the other day. The 28s yesterday were running with 3 citaros and 461 as the man eco cities were on the 5/5a and 43.

134 was also running a 43 on Monday as 701 was on the 42 and 704 had broken down.

    2. Been seeing the ex London 06 plates on the 21s and 50s lately! Seen Wrights on 72, MAN EcoCitys on the 5, the odd Citaro on the 11, most of them are on the 61/62 with some of the Tridents also filling in. Saw a 63 plate Enviro400 on 34 today.

    3. Man eco citys now run the 5/5a exept on a Sunday when it interworks with the 25.

  18. Bluestar have just taken delivery of 8 (HF69 plate) E200MMCs Fleet Nos 267 to 274 - could this be some of the batch meant for PCB which some people were discussing previously?

    ReplyDelete
  19. The second batch of citaros are going to be for the 11 so it would make sense if there were enviro 200s on the 35/35a/61/62 and citaros for the extra busses needed on the 11/11a.

Unsure how true but seeing as Bradleys comment mentions 133 being withdrawn, wouldn't be too surprised. The 64 plate Enviros are still running in London, so not sure when they'll arrive. 104, 107, 108 are definitely still around, haven't seen any others of late though.

The current planned withdrawal list is looking like 133, 134 135, All 55 plate Citaros, 06 plate Scanias, the remainder of the East Lancs and Tridents. Not sure if they're keeping them on site or not. Not sure what will happen to the very few remaining Dart SLFs either. The MPDs from London seem to be staying for now!

  28. I don't know where you got your sources from but theres not been any order for E200MMCs or E400s yet unless they've been made by GA rather than PCB and will be cascaded through the group.

    6. PCB are rising fares again to invest in their fleet. 11 new low emission busses are due to hit the road next month. These could be the enviro 400 citys. It is a bit strange as they have not arrived yet.

  30. Safe to say Flash Branding is going. The repaints are happening faster now. Saw a RedFlash on A38 out of service. It's rather nice to see the E400s in swoops now.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why did PCB decide to loose the flash branding?

    ReplyDelete
  32. They are losing the flash branding as too many of the flash buses (mainly red and blue) are never on the correct route. E.g: today, 104 is on the 35/35A/61/62 and 507/513 are on the 12/12B as well as 505/506 on Callywith College runs with 537

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hopefully they will ditch the 'Go Cornwall Bus' branding too, its so stupid as half the time i've seen them working inner city services! The flash was never going to work and I said it from the beginning, I'm glad its gone, hopefully the Spark brand will go too in time, although the interiors may need a minor touch to remove the spark logos on the seats if they did. I'd much rather PCB went more consistent in its branding, however maybe some route branding like Brighton & Hove or First Bristol would be good.

    2. The more I look at 565 and see the Swoops on the E400City, the more I don't like it. I don't feel like the livery works with the bus. Take Bluestar as an example, they've been modifying their livery to suit buses, and it works really nicely!
