Plymouth is a little bit more sparklier

More of the Spark fleet is now out in service. 557 to 562 have been caught on camera by Richard Smith. The question is - can you spot the odd one out?

  1. 557 WA17FTE hasn't got the Buggies and cctv sticker to the right of the doors and 558 WA17FTF hasn't got the legals behind the rear wheel.

  2. 562. It doesn't have the triangles at roof level.

  4. I might be in the minority, but can't say that I am that impressed with these new buses. I assume they have got some kind of engine stop / start intended to save fuel. At best it seems the drivers are already fed up with the system ,restarting the engine as soon as possible. At worst it felt dangerous when trying to pull out into the fast moving traffic of The Embankment. After waiting for a gap in the traffic the engine seemed to cut out and pick up again just as the driver tried to pull away from the bus stop.

The lack of seating downstairs, with so much space given over to prams and wheelchairs is also a minor annoyance. I might be young, but a knee problem makes the stairs difficult and the seating down stairs fills up quickly. Not everybody wants to go upstairs with the rioting school children.

    1. why are the bus drivers waiting for a gap in the traffic anyway... the law is indicate and pull out, they should start moving on the third indicator cycle, buses have right of way when pulling away from a bus stop, it annoys me so much when buses indicate and dont pull out, waiting for me to illegally flash them....i also find the livery very dull, the sparkle has worn off already...make next lot brighter....

  5. Interesting that they have gone for white-on-black destinations, if still electronic. I suppose it is to keep the front of the bus black and white without any orange intrusion. They could, of course, go the whole hog and go for electrically-driven and positioned roller blinds as in, at least, London and Edinburgh.

    1. It's full LED display. At first thought they'd be easier to read but the I'm not so sure now

    1. The difference I was referring to was the lack of decoration on the roof of 562, although there are a couple of other good answers above!
