I think that proves it.

Both pics with thanks to Richard Smith

Richard has put together a Word Document which contains photos of all the MANs in their new liveries in order which can be viewed here

With all these extra buses in to the fleet there is the opportunity to replace existing stock. It was originally expected that more Darts would depart but now it seems that most (9 of them) Optare Solos are heading North to Go North East. 209 has already left Plymouth with 207,208 due to go very shortly. All should be gone within the next couple of weeks or so.

Finally, not strictly Plymouth news as such, but it seems that Go Ahead Group is to take over Thamesdown Transport from the council. It seems like its to come under control of the South Coast operation.

  1. Has Swindon to South Coast been stated? Surely Oxford is nearer?

    1. Oxford is about 10 miles nearer, but Oxford don't operate into Swindon whereas Salisbury Reds do (hourly on the X5).

  2. Yes - it has now been confirmed - I will add to this story later

  3. There are only 9 solos anyway (206-209, 220-224) if most are going I assume that is 8 leaving 206 here, or is 206 going making all?

Had a ride on 250 yesterday (service 40) and it is still in London livery, as this was one of the first ones to hit the streets of Plymouth is it due for a repaint soon, as others have superseded it a bit (254-256). Only an observation. 252 needs a swoop too doesn't it?

Does anyone what is currently in the paintshop now the Gas buses are all done?

Is there any more news on 201-204?

    1. 206 is staying because of its livery and LX05EYW and LX05EXZ are currently getting resprayed.

    2. In the paint shop on Monday were LX05EYW and what looked like an LH painted white.
As the Dart are to be kept is it not about time that the ones still in the old livery had a coat of paint?

  4. Hello.

Shameless plug but relevant to your article. 208 (WK58 EAO) was delivered to Go North East today and another will follow tomorrow.

  8. As an observer I'm increasingly saddened to see the accuracy of Graham's posts being challenged. In recent weeks the liveries of the MANs have been questioned and today the details of the takeover of Thamesdown are being questioned despite a clear statement on the Thamesdown web-site. Graham has a demanding full-time job yet manages to keep a comprehensive web-site up to date as well, so all credit to him. Stop bashing Graham!

  10. it would be nice for pcb to get some more scania buses in the fleet, i do like the darts but i think the rattles are a bit to much now and some better buses are needed to replace the non swooped one.. i did hear one company apart of go ahead as withdrawn 2 scanaia buses so maybe some more of pcb? dont think there the same style scanias as we have now though

  11. Hi Graham,
I want to thenk you for your excellent blog - good factual, informative accurate news.
I need your help or advice on the Man Ecocity's and Richard Smith's Word Document showing all 12 of them in their new glorious liveries. Trouble is my computer will not go beyond the 1st page showing 2 orange 62DWC and 62DWL(I think). whatever I try will not lead me into the other 10 Eco,s. I have a big soft spot for these buses, and want to see them in Citybus livery. Can you help, with apologies for being a pain in the ---t!, but like me the computer is old too? Thank you

What routes are the gas buses allocated to other than obviously the Orange Flash branded 43 to Ernesettle?
